Hello fellow cannabis enthusiasts :tiphat:,

I discovered a Seedbank a while ago which is named
" Jamaica Seeds " on the Net.
They`re a spanish based Seed Company AFAIK which is providing, from my limited perspective, a rather unusal range of strains both in feminized and regular format.

The offered strains/hybrids all seem to have a good portion of landrace genetics in their pedigree, for example :

  • Jamaican Chocolate »»» {Jamaica x Africa Congo} x Southindia
  • Chemex »»» OG Kush x Mexico Oaxaca
  • Lobotomy »»» Tunisian x West Coast Indica
  • Lemon Kobra »»» {Afghanistan x (Colombia x Africa Congo)} x {Mexico x Jamaica}

My question is: Does anybody have any experiences regarding this Company and their strains ? I am pretty interessted in their work and would appreciate any further information.
Thanks in advance !

Thanks for the reply, purple man !

I only managed to find a small thread about Jamaica Seeds at Cannabiscafe forum where mixed user-opinions are expressed together with a few pictures of their strain Lemon Kobra after a more extensive search.

Perhaps you're right about the reliability of this seed company, but I won't t judge them and their strains before i have grown at least one pack of their seeds. However, it would be nice to know if the provided informations about the genetic make-up of their strains are true.

So it is like you suggested purple man. The only way to acquire a little cetainty is to grow their stains.

Saludos

what exactly are you looking for?
how did you end up looking this particular bank?
what is catching your eye from their gear?

Hello rik78, thanks for joining in !

I will try to respond to your questions precisely.

what exactly are you looking for?

Well, in general I am trying to keep my eyes open for smaller to medium sized Seed Companys/Breeders who offer or provide their own developed strains.
Peferably with a fair amount of Landrace genetics, in regular format and without much contribution from the widespread and repeatedly used " Holland Genpool ".

Examples for this scheme would be companys/breeders like Cannabiogen, Ace Seeds, Tropical Seeds Company, Delicatessen Seeds, Mandala Seeds, KC Brains, Underground Seed Collective,The Real Seed Company, Djshort, Alpine Seeds and even Serious Seeds to name a few.

In relation to this thread i would appreciate any informations regarding Jamaica Seeds and their strains,
like how costumerfriendly they are, how stable/homogenous are their strains ( F1 Hybrids or further stabilized, ratio of different phenotypes ), average germination ratio, how nutrient efficent and pest resistant are their strains, are the infos the company provides concerning heritage and cultivation are matching with growers experiences or what is the stretch of a particular strain like.

Also a grow-journal/grow report and/or a few photos from an unrelated grower would be neat to get a first impression.

how did you end up looking this particular bank?

Honestly I don't really recall how I first stumbled upon them. Probably when i visited ********** a strain of theirs might be advertised to me and out of curiosity i clicked this ad.
At first glance, the descriptions of their strains seemed to be interesting and different from the majority of strains commonly grown.
Did not find much information on the Net so I thought maybe here on ICmag, where are many many by far more experienced people than me, I could source valuable infos.

Furthermore it also looked like that there wasn't any firsthand information on ICmag
( could be still totally wrong ) so i started this thread in hopes of acquiring some knowledge which then would be also useful for other useres if they would like to get some information about this company.

what is catching your eye from their gear?

The strains I´m most interested in are Lemon Kobra, Jamaican Chocolate and Jamaican Haze.
The reason why im interested is because I like heirloom strains AND worked landrace hybrids whith unfamiliar smells, tastes, growing characteristics, highs etc.. and, like i said before, at first glance Jamaica Seeds could maybe one of the few who are breeding their own strains, do not copy others work and thus provide the grower community with fresh genetic material. ( Landrace preservation would be even nicer, hehe )

But the only thing I do know is that i don't know.

Cheers, :smokeit:

what an amazing opinion rik78 sorry to say so

never had any experience with them but already making the kill
before even hearing anything about it?

why not giving it a chance.

i grew the dejavue under fluorescence lights circumstantially.
it was not a big yeald it also suffered quite rough
because i was moving to a new flat and had to set up things first.

so it started flowering when it shouldnt have because
i didnt have enough time to prepare the light setup properly during the moving.
so i revegged it and sent it flowering once more a bit later.

i just started a new load the dejavue the cotton candy bud
and the sweet tunisia.. all fems,

seeds are very good all sprout in an instant even though
they are a few years old already.

the dejavue i grew about 4 years ago had despite the trouble
an amazing tasty little bud.
