i recently spoke to my congressman and it was an amazing experience. my representative listened very well and helped me on several of the topics i brought up regarding marijuana legalization in california, he even told me a few things about the auto industry.

you can find out your congressman by:

visiting house.gov and entering your 9 digit zip code in the zip code box on the upper right hand side.

you can find your 9 digit zip code by looking up your address on the us postal service web site at https://www.usps.com/zip4/ or if that link doesn't work, you can google "us postal service zip code lookup"

it is best if you prepare a document with your views and subject matters and both email it to your representative and print it out for your meeting with your congressman or congresswoman. be sure to make photocopies for reference, both for yourself and your representative - atleast five and stapled for multipage statements.

you can schedule a meeting with your representative by hovering over 'contact' with your mouse and clicking 'schedule a meeting' or something like that

be sure to dress well and act appropriately because THEY WILL TAKE YOU DOWN FOR HARASSMENT OR PHYSICAL HARM *if* they allow you to meet and talk with a representative.

if you do not feel like visiting a representative of the house, or feel like you will not be able to obtain a meeting, *PLEASE CONTACT YOUR CONGRESSMAN OR CONGRESSWOMAN OR SENATOR REGARDING MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION, MAKE SURE IT IS WORDED WELL AND IS APPROPRIATE FOR THE CAMPAIGN OF MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION - SIMPLY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ABOVE TO FIND YOUR REPRESENTATIVE AND CLICK 'CONTACT' ON THEIR WEB PAGE*

this applies to *ALL FIFTY STATES*

some if not all emails are read and screened, so please act and think appropriately

Hi Larry,

I can imagine that would be a bit of a scare if you weren't expecting it!! he he.

I totally agree with you that Congressional Representatives and senators, both at the State and Federal level are worth talking to. Now that we have passed a Constitutional Amendment here in CO, some folks in government seem to feel that it was just "those hippies and college kids from Denver and Boulder" who passed it, despite the overwhelming support from rural CO. People who voted fro Romney voted for Amendment 64! Sometimes they need to be reminded that they aren't just doing this because of the stereotypical pro-marijuana voters, but because folks like me in the suburbs are smart enough to know how to use marijuana responsibly and that is precisely what we voted to do. "Opting out" of retail sales and burying ones head in the sand is not an option.
