It's a Crossing Situation

:chin:

So my friend and I are wondering what crosses to make. We have a few strains to work with, such as:

Ice
Bubblicious
White widow
AK48

We were wondering if anyone has crossed these before?

I have grown the AK48 out and I got a purple pheno from it. I also have a few seeds left from it as well.

If I crossed the whitewidow with bubblicious and ice. Would it make a good strain? I know it takes about 6 yrs to get it stable, but does anyone recommend it?

Hell I would even sell some of the seeds on seedbay. :chin:

I would like to get some ideas on it....... :joint:

Do a cross with all of them to experiment, and see which cross comes out best.

AK x White Widow
Bubblicious x Ice
Ice x AK
White Widow x Bubblicious

I would definetly do something with that purple AK pheno, did you save a cutting from her?

As Closet Funk suggests experiment and have FUN :D

*many nice strains are just two nice plants crossed together

Crossing Ak with White Widow would probally make a pretty potent strain. Serious has the same cross and it's called White Russian. The THC content is supposed be like 21%. White Widow has purple phenos too so maybe you'll get lucky and find it and cross the two purple phenos together. That would be a nice strain.

sorry closet but all Nirvana beans are crossed to the same skunk male so it would be just a skunk overcross and youll end up with 50% skunk 25% ww and 25% Ak ...
Sure you can learn with such beans but for my personal needs i would never ever start with nirvana seeds ...
for info all purple phenos are from the skunk used and this is columbian spectrum and therefore prone to purp up ...
Fj
PS:here are some cheaper quality cultivars : Sensi Afghani #1 , MapleLeaf Indica ,Mr nice SharkShock , Medicine Man , Serious Seeds Bubblegum ,WhiteRussian to name a few ...

Surely the male Skunk side in Nirvana's cultivar(s) add stability and strength to the landrace genetics involved. Is this not the reason why a Skunk line was initially used?

Also (for info all ) purple leaf are from the skunk used  But this is from the Afghan end of the spectrum. Afghan/kush turn purple,,, can't ever remember growing a purple columbian plant? (we would be going back some years)... then again some Hazes are purple without afghan  :canabis:

peace out dL :joint:

Hi all

To clarify:

Nirvana operates on a co-op system (several breeders produce seed for the company). For this reason not all strains carried by Nirvana B.V. are crossed with skunk. (Afghan, Haze, MarocxAfghan,) most are... lol

Much of Nirvana's stock descends from Positronics, NL, who did cross skunk into many of their commercial lines. same grows with HomegrownFantaseed and HQS stock.

hope this helps, peace dL :joint:

Hey doc,

Suprisingly I've gotten purple traits from mexican, acapulco, columbian and afghan landraces. Acapulco gold is a mix of columbian and (guererran?) landrace further complicating things. It is and always has been small seeded and when allowed to get full size grows into the diamond shape of most columbian (as opposed to the A-frame shape of a typical mex) with a mexican (guererran?) flower structure and the buds that consistently cover the entire branch. In bags of columbian purple buds werent unfrequent when columbian was popular in the us.

ok, so...
new question same topic.

if someone had nirvana strains and were to cross a fem Master Kush and a male Skunk #1 they would end up with 75% skunk and 25% mk? or a more stable Master Kush? is it not worth the effort crossing two nirvana strains?

thanks

*edited, anyone have a link to some good landrace genetics info, and whats the best strains to obtain for crossing, ibl or landrace or ibl/lr crosses? someone shed some light please

In that cross you mentioned you'll get less of the dominant kush traits than the first generation along with more of the dominant sk1 genes and now recesive sk1 genes unlike before. Like the masterkush no recessive kuhs traits will be visible. This however doesn't mean it isn't worth growing or couldn't produce something excellent. Just select as good of parents as you can and see how it turns out.

Any ibl from ogbub will be excellent breeder stock. For landraces go check out fritzman at

http://fritzman.tripod.com.br/BSC

He has many wonderful landrace genetics and they're all maintained in the tropics keeping them very true to the originals. Plus he's a very honest and friendly guy.

I did not know that about Nirvana. So you mean to tell me that the AK48, Bubblicious, Cali-O, and White Widow all have been crossed with Skunk? hmm! also I wasn't telling him hat crossing the Nirvana AK with White Widow would make the White Russian strain. I was giving him an example on what the strain was and how potent it was. It was to give him an idea on what a AK and White Widow cross can do. Thanks for the info though, I guess you learn somethig new everyday.

Nirvana strains are not all crossed with a skunk. In their descriptions, they tell you which ones are crossed. I think most of them are not.
