this is my first time growing weed. i thought i did it all right. the room in focus held 8 deep water culture buckets (5 gallon). there was plenty of o2 in and out of the room, enough co2. the 2k watt hps bulbs were air cooled and ran on 240v . everything was lookin real good as we headed into the 6th week of bloom.
then it happened.
on the way home i noticed that the street lights are flashing. i thought nothing of it. i walked into my house to the smell of coco core? i dont use much coco core? i walked upstairs to find that the only light in the place is the 2000 watts in bloom room #2... the big one.
the 120 breakers had blown when the power in the neighborhood screwed up. when it came back on i had no fans, no bubbles, no life support under 2000watts in an enclosed environment!
the digital thermometer says it reach almost 135 at canopy level. i was gone at dinner for 4 hours.
what do i do?
i am growing for some medical patients and have some people that i promised to care and provide for.
what is my best best? do i cut the colas that were burnt? do i try and nurture the ones that were not burnt? or pull the whole thing and hope for better luck with the power next time?

Kinda hard to say without some pics, but you should be able to revive them unless they are totally fried.

IMO, 6 weeks is too early unless you have a freak pheno that's super quick...

well i cut the crispy fried parts off of the colas, most of the tips. my girlfriend shed a few tears. its been alot of work and stress trimming the top layer offa the canopy, but its done. the plants seem to be ok i guess. im pretty bummed.
i still have a question about how i should be cutting the burnt parts?
can i cut the top half of a bud off and expect it to keep growing? or should o cut the stem at the next node down in order to nurture the bud that hasnt been burnt?

I will share a secret because you grow for others. This is a trick to keep bonsai from dying back after being cut. Apply a dab of vasaline/ patroleum jelly to the cut stem it wont have to work as hard to repair the cut and the rest should grow just fine once they see the light. Also maybe you shouldnt cut them and just let the plant take care of itself. Maybe it will produce extra resin to protect itself from the heat?
