the first pic is worst and the smallest of the plants
the second is starting to worry me and the third pic is the biggest plant

i am growing in soil
they are white widows week 4 of 12/12
the first pic is the worst and the smallest
the second pic is the middle size plant
and the third pic is the one a got great hopes for if a can save the bigger 2 a will be happy, although I know the first plant is gonna be thrown out.

i am growing in my bedroom cupboard, i got a 400w hps lamp. it is roughly 2 feet away from the biggest plant, although the middle plant is lookin worse. so if it is burnt why is the middle one worse than the big one, when the big one is easily closer to the light.

ok the soil from a grow bag might not be ideal, and the tomato food might not be great either ( its worked fine with a californian orange plant, and a big bud plant). ave got to get proper nutrients and soil (any ideas should i buy it on ebay or is there a store in the uk that a can buy the proper stuff B&Q or homebase an what should i buy advice greatly appreciated)

i have a vapourtec inside the cupboard, for odour control, i have an ocilating fan to move the air, also intake fan for bottom of cupboard, and extaction fan venting into the loft space.

the plants were startyed from seed, i have got six beautifull clones that should be going 12/12 next week, my temp gauge is fooked so dont know the temps ordered a new one from ebay.

a really thought it was nutient as a couple o leaves on the big plant got yellow spots on a couple o the big fan leaves near the bottom, any help is greatly appreciated

What is in your soil mix? Is there dolomite lime? How long ago since repotted?

What is in your tomato food? Be very specific and include info on micronutrients like copper. How much are you using and how often?

Have you tested soil ph lately? Are you adjusting the ph of your fert water after adding the tomato food?

Specific details about your grow gets you a better answer.

looks like BV is on the right track...
Peat based mix?
No micronutes in the fert?
That'd be my first direction of inquiry....

the name of the plant food is timorite, ingredients as follows, (they make no sense to me)

nitrogen (n) total 4.0%
phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) soluble in water 4.5% (2.0%P)
potassium oxide (K2O) solubler in water 8% (6.6%K)
magnesium oxide (MgO)soluble in water 0.03% (0.018%Mg)

a was giving them 20ml mixed with 3 litres of water devided amongst the 3 of them Daily. Have not check the ph aint got a kit but am gettin one, my temp is sitting around 90 degrees (thats as cool as a can get it) , the soil is soil i have taken out of a grow bag bought at the local B&Q. just checked the packaging and it says there is peat inside it, is this good or bad, i water until there is run off, so soil is not drying out.

What I see you feeding them, the best I can figure, is
n:p:k:mg in parts per million....
254:124:421:2

90 degrees is too hot...
pH is most likely low...
WAY too much N in flower
Not enough Mg or Ca...
Overall concentration of nute is a bit much...

and dont water with nutes everyday skip a watering, and do they really need to be watered everyday. With high temps like that i can see that as a posibility.

i just checked ph, it looks like 6, is that ok? whatabout the soil and a will cut down the feed to see what happens, need to get anothjer feed a think

also did you try to flush out your soil to take out some of the nutes and built up salts. Thats a good start than when you begin to feed again a few days later not sure on exact time but start them off with quarter strength nutes and work it back up. the plant will tell you if its hungry just like people.

Looks like a Nute burn.

Plants require nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, calcium, and magnesium in large quantities. They also need small amounts (called micronutrients) of iron, manganese, zinc, copper, boron, and molybdenum.

If you mix powdered/pulverized (not pelletized) dolomite lime into your soil mix, this will give the plants calcium and magnesium. Ideally, you should test different lime rates with your soil mix. Using 3 seperate containers, add 1, 2, and 3 teaspoons lime per gallon of mix. Wet well. Wait a week. Mix 1/4 cup soil mix with 1/4 cup distilled water. Stir. Wait 30 minutes. Test this slurry ph. Pick the best lime rate. Just guessing, try 2 teaspoons per gallon of mix. Be sure to mix the lime well with the soil...it needs to be uniform.

If you forgot to add lime, you can surface apply it and water in. Try 1 1/5 teaspoons per gallon of soil mix. You can only do this if ph is low!!!

If your ph is ok or on the high side, you can add cal mag to your water by using 1/4 teaspoon of both epsom salts and powdered gypsum (per gallon of water) along with the regular ferts. Easily disolvable gypsum you might find at a brew your own beer/wine store. Organic traditions brand will not disolve. Epsom salts you can find at the drugstore. Calcium nitrate can be used instead of gypsum at the same rate. Calcium chloride can be used also instead of gypsum. You might find it in bottles sold under names like blossom end rot stopper for tomatoes. It will take the % calcium and net weight of the bottle to tell you how much to add 60 ppm ca. Both calcium nitrate and calcium chloride are easier to disolve.

You should find a nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium fert containing the 6 micronutrients. It should contain little urea or ammonia nitrogen and the rest nitrate nitrogen. Avoid ferts with potassium chloride.

Only thing left to add to your water would be sulfur. Occassionally not always add 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water epsom salts from the drugstore along with the regular fert. (if your constantly adding the low rate of cal mag in your water described before, your already adding epsom containing sulfur) An alternative to this would be to mix 3/4 teaspoon powdered gypsum per gallon of soil mix at planting time along with the lime. In this instance, organic traditions brand is ok.

Ph is very important. At least get some ph test strips from the aquarium section of a petstore or brew your own beer/wine store. You can use them to test the soil ph sometimes and adjust the ph of the fert water everytime after adding the ferts.

How to test soil ph: After watering/ferting well. Wait 30 minutes. Then apply some distilled water to the pot surface till 1 or 2 ounces of runoff occurs. Catch on a saucer. Test ph. If you can tilt the pot after watering/ferting and waiting 30 minutes and get some liquid out, you can test that instead.

there are a bunch of grow shops in the UK. just go to yahoo uk and do a search for hydroponic gardening or grow lights and all the growshops in the uk will popup. whatever you do don't order from a US growshop, the international shipping cost are insane. :2cents:

Or you can just go online and order. Its not a big deal ordering nutes and stuff they sell them in stores you wont go to jail or raise suspicion. might even get them cheaper.
