This is the first time I have seen anything like this. It looks like fungus or a spider web of some kind. Here is a pic. I am about to trim, but curious as to what this stuff is? It has taken a good bit of one of my biggest buds area.

It looks like a really condensed web, but also looks like fungus.. :badday:

Looks like mold to me....
Whatever you do don't let the not moldy buds touch the moldy ones....
Quick dry them somehow and maybe make hash or BHO out of it.
Apart from that there's not much you can do about it.... :badday:
Better ventilation next time, oscilating fan maybe??

Been using the same set up for a year, Never had this issue. I assume I will have to trim around the moldy areas and trash it?

Its defenitly gray mold (botrytis) AKA Bud Mold. Don't even trim the buds with the same scicors so you don't spread it to the non effected buds. Hope ya figure out what caused it. Im guessing the hot weather this summer may have helped it grow. Peace and *bong* :friends:

What was your humidity in late flowering?
have no clue. I'd say the same as it was the whole period. I have grow many plants in this area, and this is the only one to ever get it. I dried it all out and smoked the moldly stuff in a blunt with a friend. We figured the heat would kill the mold.. hehe. I never got sick
:woohoo:

You may not get sick right away...
Problem with mold is the spores come through the joint and into your lungs... Then they start to reproduce...
Be very attentive to the way your lungs feel for the next couple of weeks... If they start to hurt of you start coughing go to the doc...

Yeah looks like Botrytis, hard to tell exactly as the pic is fuzzy. Did the buds get soft/mushy/slimy and the room was cool and humid? Or was the room warm and dry and the buds turned to powder? Either is a sure sign of Botrytis and should be removed with clean scissors and reclean them when done. I had some in a large NL cola last harvest and removed all of it and the surrounding 1/2"-1" of bud. Spread the rest of the buds on the cola out to allow air to get inside and that was the end of it. Either way, I'd wouldn't test my luck with wet/mouldy buds again. The lung infection I had at 14 from mouldy buds was how my parents found out bout my habit.
