So i started a grow in my closet, on nov. 20th, after germinating seeds from my personal smoke and potting them in a large home depot paint bucket.
Up until Jan.6th i had them under 24 light hours, but one plant grew much larger than the other. Im using 5 13watt cfl lights with some aluminum foil here and there for reflectors.
I also started 2 other plants in half a 2 litre soda bottle. On Feb 12th i repotted them to a larger 12 inch pot each with a 26 watt cfl which im told equals to 85 watts. They are cfl floodlights with a glass reflector i got at walmart. Those have been getting 12 hours of light from seeds to see if full lifetime flowering is possible and what it could yeild.

The large plant has been in flowering for about 45 days, and only had one problem where the light slipped and burned 3 upper leaves.

pictures are in my gallery i cant figure out how to post them here it says i have to delete the url's and thats wat the pics are.

My point of this all is how easy it is and how cheap. Ive used just tap water and the light with no special fertilizers or nutes. The large lights on the younger small plants each cost 8$ and the pots were 1$ each. A large bag of potting soil to pot them both cost 4$. And the whole set up for the larger plants with paint bucket, 4$, soil 4$, and lights 20$ for a pack of 10. With a timer used by all the lights, 5$, it brings it all to 55$ for a complete setup that seems to be thriving well on the easiest growing ive ever done.

growing cannabis is as hard or easy as you want it to be. Show us some pics of this ghetto setup would like to see it. Good luck and happy cultivation.

CFL's really are the way to go if your wanting low profile. I germ and clone in blacked out, foil lined rubbermaid tubs with cfl's and floro tubes and I have to say that it is the cheapest and easiest way to go.

I bought a 150w HPS from e-conolight, and wired it up today. I am starting my SoG, but will be flowering another scrog of the bagseed that my current harvest is from. I will see if the difference in the buds from CFL to HPS is really worth the difference in my electric bill. I am going to 150w HPS and 84W of CFL from my old setup of 195w of CFL. The wattage jump seems to be much bigger than I thought it would be, I just hope the cost factor doesn't jump as fast as the wattage!

The CFL buds sure are getting me toasty now, so if the cost does go up too much I will go back to the CFL's in a heartbeat and not shed a tear.
