Issue with my auto grow help please!

Hey guys!, so this isn't my first grow but I've never encountered a problem like this that i just have't been able to diagnose. My Big Bang Auto seems to be curling its leaves upwards and on the very tip it is slightly yellow. I don't believe it is heat stress as my auto super silver haze has been right next to it the whole time and it is only very very slightly curled up. I also don't think it is wind stress or nutrient burn. The only thing that was different between these two that i can think of was that big bang was in a smaller pot for a while before i transplanted her. I did raise my lights just to be safe (even though CFL's give off not that much heat) and i turned my fan so it only slightly hits them. I also laid off on the nutes. I'm growing using 8 CFL's with sufficient lumens on a 24/0 cycle and they are in coconut coir. I put some pics! If you have any ideas please lay em on me!

Check pH soil and water. Often times it's from a. overwatering, b. deficiency...try adding a little Epsom salts to water...magnesium, c. pH imbalance not allowing plant to absorb all beneficial nutz, d. over fertilizing. Dilute veg fertilizer...seems AF's don't need much nitrogen...and use diluted form when budding/finishing....water leaching out chemicals toward the end.

Thanks man! I just tried the epsom salt today so hopefully that helps and i ordered a ph up and down tester from general hydroponics. I don't think it does soil ph though...you recommend a cheap tester? Also what is the ideal ph for both water and soil for AF's....6.5 or lower?

sounds to be one of two or a combo, and you hit on one, and that is rootbound, or overwatered. coco needs little water, and auto's do not take well to having root constraints. nothing major to worry about, and some good info from aridbud just don't do all at one time. peace

It was only in the 7 range for like the first 2 weeks how bad do you think that will affect the yield? They're autos by the way

for coco thats pretty high, but I have found that the thing that limits yield the most for auto's is root constraints. so it sounds like you got to them in time, but auto's are finfcky. best of luck.

If it's straight coco the ph was the issue, 5.8 should have things working nicely.

yeah i know how sensitive autos are but they seem to be growing like an inch a day now! Never knew how important ph really was! Thanks guys

thats awsome they are doing well again. I have noticed high ph shows lockout faster than low ph. I'm not talking way low, but lower than 5.0, however when it does finally show problems it's sometimes too late. best of luck!

Aw man!! You have no idea how much that ph graph just helped me. They've been showing signs of slight Ca and Mg deficiencies and i've been giving them a ph lower than 6.3. So the ph was too low to absorb Ca or Mg! Dam i was wondering what was going on. Thanks man!

Your more than welcome glad I could help
Just remember the Ph does fluctuate, so it may still rise, or lower into that range at which those elements are taken up at some point.best of luck!

I Think your looking at the soil side not the hydro side. Coco is more hydro.BEST of luck.

oh ok! i was wondering if coconut coir was either more like soil or more like hydro thanks for clearing that up. This is my first time growing with it

coco should be treated as a hydro medium, and coco requires huge amounts of cal/mag. You may just be showing a nute def and not a ph problem with the cal/mag. Since the plant is growing well again I'd assume your ph is fine and you should up your cal/mag suppliment.

good call Mr Jay: also reversed osmosis water is void of these elements.
