Is this Purple Haze???

Hello Everyone.. thanks for coming in and taking a look.. I got these clones from a local Medical co-op in Sacramento California. The clone I got said "purple haze" on the lable it came with, But it also had the name "Kush" on it but the Kush was marked out with a pen. So, I grow these out and i personaly have never grown purple haze. here are some characteristics of it: It clones easy, grows very easy, When set into 12/12 it doesn't shoot up but a few inches at best. Not a overwhelming smell, but some nice low musky smell to it. the buds are semi-large and semi-dense.. It takes about 60-70 days to ripen. It cures up nice, and smokes good too. These pictures are very near harvest.. day 66. My question is this: Is it a Purple haze? If anyone has other pictures of a Purple haze, could you post it please, so i can compare:) ,, thanks;) be well all.

Thanks again:

Most people will agree that there is no such thing as purple haze... or maybe its so rare no one knows about it :p Regardless you have some very nice looking buds and as long as you like them you can call it whatever you want :)

i can definately tell you it isnt a haze. WAY too wide leaves and WAY too big buds. hazes are stretchy as hell and have airy skimpy buds.

there is no one strain the is "purple haze" anymore. haze can go purple in certain climates and i know some of tom hill's original haze goes purple but it also goes 18-22 weeks.

ummm...i heard purple haze originally was jimi hendrix' favorite type of LSD, but unfortunately many people started calling it a strain of cannabis. well thats what i've heard.

Thanks for taking a look at these plants and responding!.. I didnt think that they are purple haze due to my own research, but i had to ask, since there is not much info on purple haze. Wich I am going to make another thread to ask people if the clones they get from medical co-op are what they say they are... kinda pisses me off to walk into the chevy dealer and pay for a corvette, and then driving away in a chevette! lol...
Thanks for the kind words on the plants..:) very kind of you..

Yeah, I can vouch that the purple haze I know was LSD from the 60's and 70's. Can't speak for the herb though.

Pure Haze does have a purple pheno, there is a pheno of Seedsman's Haze that can turn purple given the right conditions and Hothouse Flowers Haze which is a really old line also has a purple pheno. I believe Positronics had a Haze hybris that was purple and that clone ended up all over the dutch scene which lead a lot of people to think there was no purple hace in the original seedlines as the dutch Hazes were all green which probably meant that Sam the Skunkman's Haze seedline didn't have the purple pheno, maybe Sam had worked it a little since the original Cali days.

Definitely not a Haze strain you have there, Haze stretches and stretches and forms wispy, long, thin buds, but regardless, it's a very nice lady you have there.

I knew Hazes where more of a sativa breed.. and these obviously are not anywhere near a Haze... looks like another person trying to get rid of their stock calling it "purple haze".
makes me flex /grrr! lol.. oh well, I like the pheno, just isnt what it says it is.. thanks for the info British Hempire.../cheers

The true haze usually takes over 240 days in flower, and only sees 12/12 from seed (equatorial strain). As for Purple Haze, Hendrix coined the phrase to illustrate his mental state as he was going through some rough times, it sounded cool to the hippies of the time and I guess it stuck.

Theory has it that a long flowering haze would undoubtably be cut short of its' full flowering potential by shorter growing seasons outdoors, and the cooler temps could force purps.

Back in the 80s when we were playing with Neville's Haze there were rumors that a purple pheno was the holy grail, we found the pheno and it was crap. But if you find the lime-green Neville's Pheno let me know and I'll mortgage the house........

That is true as well. I have heard of a few clubs creating thier own "purple haze" by crossing a haze with potent purple, purpla passion etc.
Maybe that iswhat you aquired?
