I and you probably know that its OK to run 1000w per room but what if you are using the flip/flop method. Is it still ok to run lets say 4000w in a 4 1/2 but 24hours a day instead of 12?

when you say 1k per room, are you referring to top usage before alarms go off?

if so & don't know where you are at, but within the medipot state i'm in, the max usage is irrelevant so long as totals sites is within limits. As such, if you were here, there would be no issues at all... heck, go 20k! ;-)

if not, then no would be my vote as you will essentially be doubling the total usage & believe the 1k per bdrm is based on 12/12. Best brah!

Well, the whole question to be honest!!....

but it seems a light sched like that wouldn't do the plants any good, and more unstable strains might want to hermi out on ya...uninterrupted 12/12 is what I think you should do!!!

more wattage, less time??...thats what confuses me

oregon bob seems to have a grip on what your saying better than I...I live in the same state he does, and have been very active in the program since its conception, so yeah, power usage is irrelevant here, and that might be why I am not understanding your question!!!

Sorry if I butted in :pointlaug

im talking about flip/flop so the light schedule is always 12/12 but with flip flop you have the opportunity to have 2 rooms doing 12/12 without running both room at the same time.
basically my question is whats the point in having a flip/flop setup besides the fact that your saving on ballast.

I guess oregon answered my question but I thought the whole point of flip/flop was to use double your maximum wattage your ready to go without feeling like your going to get busted because your using only 4000watt at a time and not 8000watt in one shot

That is very true. You just need to switch from the initial assumption of 12/12... you are essentially doubling this "guideline". Under the 12/12 assumption, you will be running 8k... no way around that conversion. Best brah!
