Is this normal?

First grow ever. Using organic palm and cactus mixed with patio plus organic. Distilled water, soil PH 6.8, nutes every third watering. Giving water only when top few inches of soil is dry. I have the pots tilted so the entire plant gets sun. I turn the container every morning. This keeps the top bending back and forth towards the sun. I think this will keep the plant bushy and less tall. I hope. My question is on some of the larger leaves the stems are curled downward, the leaf itself looks fine. The other stems are bent way up. Is everything ok? I hope my pics post ok. Thanks for any input.

these plants look fine to me. perhaps a little underwatered ... flush them thru every now and then or put a saucer under them. and reduce nuting, I think.

but STOP turning them to the sun! let them do their own thing even if they grow lopsided. these plants may sex-alter if you muddle up the sunlight for them.

cheers!

looks like they are tired from constantly having to reorient themselves toward the sun. Same as above more water if the top couple inches are dry I would say their probally pretty thirsty by then! good luck!

Those leaves look pretty big their probably sagging the branch. Looks nice and green from the pics though. I agree with the above stop turning them & tie them back if they grow funny. Welcome to ICMag.

6.8 oh seems a bit high to me. Been quite a while since I've run soil but I think a more optimal oh is 6.3. I'd start there. If you want your plants to turn into bushes, top them. Meaning, cut off the top of the plant. This will cause it to bush out. You can then top again in the next week or 2. This will give you a nice fat bush.

Misty, ime when the plant receives too much or too intense light they tend to drop the larger leaves the same way they do in the dark cycle. My .02

About pruning, If you want to top or fim (my choice) your plant it will make it bush out like everyone knows, but if you gently bend the top over whenever you water or inspect the plant this will cause the plant to bush out without the stress of pruning, as some I know do not like to top at all. They use higher fences:).
I use this on og kush that are to close to flower to top but still need to be slowed to let the canopy even out.

Thanks everyone for your comments....OK I will quit turning them. When I water I do give them a lot. 1 gal...Just so a little runs out the bottom. And not a lot of nutes 1/2 strength. I spray them with water once a day too.The plants are getting sun for about 7 hours. No early morning or late afternoon. Just due to their location, and the neighbors big ass tree. I wish they could get more. You probably are thinking...then move the dang things, but they are hiding behind the tomato plants lol. I have noticed the leaves being tight (closer) to the plant stem early in the morning, as the sun shines on them they open up more. We are having a cooler than normal weather right now especially nights. It has fluctuated week by week. Maybe they are just to cold. LOL......I will give an up date later.

That droopy leaf seems to be wilted, not overwatered... I have found that leaves will sometimes behave this way even if the plant is provided ample light and water, if there is very low humidity in conjunction with high temperatures.... just a possibility. I'm no horticulture expert

Hi there, i used to turn my outdoor plants and i found it helped a lot! Really strengthened the stems nicely. I don't think that turning your plants is the problem.

In my opinion, they look underwatered. But you're doing the right thing waiting for the top few inches to dry out...I think it may have something to do with the cactus mix you're using. Cactus mix has very poor water retention, which could be affecting your plants.

For the time being, you could put a bamboo stick in next to the plant and tie her to the bamboo for support.

I am no professional, so maybe wait for a few more people to chime in before you draw any final conclusions. Also, what the guy said about the PH level is right. You need to bring it down just a fraction.

Thanks kiwi, The main stem is strong.... **FRIEND..The plant has no wilt on the leaves they are flat, and those stems are strong too, just curled funny. I will be the ph down a bit more. I think I will top it today too.

Nice looking herbage man! Isn't it wild how they grow all over the place like that. I assume the bottoms are cut out from the smaller pots and put into 5 gal buckets, nice and almost no stress. I was going to suggest topping to keep the height down cuz them 5 Gal buckets can get them up to 6' no prob, but you already got it handled.
Nice first grow I will keep stopping by for this one.

My first grow is doing really well. I did the second topping today. The stem curling was due to under watering for those that suggested that, you were right! I lowered the ph a bit and have to everyhttps://www.icmag.com/ic/attachment.php?attachmentid=227473 watering due to the 7.0 ph of the distilled water that I'm using.
When it is time to harvest and cure I will check-in for advice. Want to make sure I don't mess that up!

They have gotten taller and nice buds are growing... But I have just noticed a silver coating on some of the leaves. It is just on top of the leaf nothing on the undersides. It won't wash off. Help!
