hello all. I have a few plants that are starting to get yellow on the bottom, mature leaves, and I think moving there way up the plant. They are 3-4 weeks into flowering and dont know if this is overfert, underfert, or what. Kind of looks like magnesium deficiency but this is my first time growing and I really dont know. Alot of the deficiencys look alike to me at this point yet. I wanted to add that even after I water and the top leaves all start facing upwards, these leaves that are affected go down. Some are real bad and hanging out on the side of the grow bag. lol

They were grown in fox farm happy frog soil straight up. Feeding with fox farm grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom. I think it has lime and all that in it. I was thinking could it be rootbound? I am in 2 gallon containers. Heres some pics and if you need any more information just let me know. Id like to fix this if I can, although maybe it is just part of the process of growing the big buds.

It could be normal aging of leaves, or a slight nitrogen def. or perhaps. mag. Before adding any ferts, though, check your p.H.

it's normal for plants to exhibit nitrogen def. midway through flower...from your pics, that's what it looks like to me...stay safe

Looks like slight nitro/mag defficency... nothin to worry about... If you really want it to stop, fert with 1/3rd dose grow nutes, but meh... I like I said, I wouldnt worry about it... BTW what is the NPK rating of your bloom fert? Make sure your soil PH is inline before fertin.

EDIT: I just looked at the pic again, dunno, the red stem and green veins makes me think its mag, still could be slight nitro, but ide just water with some cal-mag 5ml/gal, see if the red stems subside or stop from spreading. your plants looks healthy tho, i was just go with the flo

Totally normal . As the plants putting all of its energy into growing buds during flowering older fan leafs yellow and eventually fall off. Don't pull them off leave them to drop. Remember to remove them from the floor though as rotting leafs can cause mould. I normally have to remove bin bags full of fan leaves during flowering. The biggest mistake people make is adding all sorts to the plant when it dosn't need it. Promise you your plant is very healthy.

Ph of the water is 6.5. I watered today with some epsom salts hoping that it might take a little bit of it away. I checked the first little bit of run off from the plants and that was 6.7 so I would assume my soil ph is right around there. I suppose with 4-5 weeks left I shouldnt worry too much. It just came all of a sudden. 1 day fine, the next day this. Heres the ferts im using. I think some of them are made for hydro but I am using them as directed in soil. Seems to like them. Or did. lol Thanks for the help everyone. Lets see if the little bit of epsom salts stops it. I mixed 1 teaspoon in 8 gallons before I watered. I read on here 1/8 tsp per gallon.

Looks like the Grow Big is 6-4-4, Tiger Bloom 2-8-4, Big Bloom 0.01-0.3-0.7. Is that Big Bloom ok you think being hydro numbers like that?

looks like the old label LK to me... Check the back,,, see if it says it contains 20% Humic Acid,,,,,, Not sure why but the new forumla only has .01% Humic Acid.... theres a few threads about in around here. not sure if thats part of your problem, I have heard of LK and other organic nutes going bad... ask MrWags about it.

yeah its definately the old label LK. I just picked up some Cal Mag though and was gonna wait a week and see if the epsom salts fixes the problem. If not was going to apply some of this maybe at quarter strength. What are the symptoms of too much magnesium?

Hey meathead.. your plant looks nice, however it is a little early for it to be yellowing.. you are right to be concerned.. particularly about that "type" of yellowin along with the purping stems..
I think the steps you took to correct are the right ones.

Let us know what ur results were

P.S. to much mag locks up K locks up Cal.. etc.. u have a ways to go however b4 lockin up mag.. unless one of your additives has lots of Cal or Mag or Pot.. Often times just some good settled PH'd water is all they need.. and I would give the PURE PH'd watering at more like 6.3. The soil will take up the PH as the plant eats..

Peace
