Is this lime OK?

The finest grade of pelletized, dolomitic limestone available. Adjusts soil pH so plants can get the most from nutrients present. Fine pellets spread easily, react quickly and do not pose the hazards associated with hydrated lime.

Is this Lime ok, or is it going to be too slow of a release to work right, I like to start using my mix around 2 weeks of sitting. Above is a description of the lime.

It will work, But I would reccommend trying to crush it finer first. If you use a mortar and pestle you should be able to crush it up nice and fine. (thats the thing you use in the kitchen to mix herbs).

IF you got an old coffee grinder you can use that to grind it up also. The pelletized just wont break down as fast if you dont and you wont get the proper PH control with it.

No you need the powdered form, dolomite is the right knid of lime though.
If you composted it before using you'll be fine, even if you didn't a small plants doesn't require the calcium until a litle later and the ph buffering will do it's thing.
A mortar and pestle could be fine but if you use @ 2tbs / gal of soil that's alot of mortoring and pesteling, most who buy peletized sweat to never do it again lol.

Yeah I would return that Lime you bought and replace with a bag of Powdered Dolomite Lime.

Burn1,

Bought time you showed up...lol...

bostrom,

Yeah, you need the powdered type for faster release....The "prilled" will also work better than the pelletized...Prilled is just powdered dolomite bound with something to make it easier to spread with a spreader....LC
