Is this "Damping Off"?

Here is some pics of my 4 week old cutting of G13. I believe it is damping off but just wanted to post to see what you guys think it is.

The plants were perfectly healthy until this. The stem just gets really thin in the middle and becomes a darkerer color. Hopefully you can see the pictures are poor quality.

Yup, soft mushy stem that blackish in color, the pic is too blurry but just by the colors and rough shape I'd say yes even though it usually affects smaller plants at soil level and in this case it looks like it's above soil level, maybe you bent the stem by mistake and rot set in...

If this is a recuring problem then you have a humisity proble, your overwatering, or you have a mold problem in your grow, you can leave a 1" layer of hydroclay on the top of your soil or perlite as well.

damping-off is caused by the soil-borne fungus. This fungus exists as different types that are capable of causing diseases on different plants. It survives in soil and on decaying plant material as mycelium.

So don't reuse soil...clean your grow room, utinsils, pots, tray's, domes, everything. sm-90 is a killer product that works against stem rot/damping off/fungus, There are other anti fungi treatments like copper spray or sulfur spray. Just check with your local garden shop for organic anti fungal's :) and clean your rig and you are set :joint:

Hey Kokua thank you for clearing that up for me buddy. Kinda looks like the stem is rotting from the inside out.

Go search on your camera if it has a MACRO function and your photos will turn out 300% better.....thus giving everyone a better 'picture' of what's the problem.... 2cts
