Is this bud rot?

Yellowish/brown tinge. Really it’s a golden color. to the buds. Started on lower part of plant, I was guessing that it wasn’t getting light or something. I did not think it was rot because I barely even been watering these things, but now I’m not so sure

I’m doing all from seed now so this isn’t a clone so no comparison.

Bud rot AKA Botrytis usually happens in dense bud but can happen on stems and leaves as well if humidity is above 50%.
It will look like laundry lint.
Botrytis affected area often crumbles if rubbed.

Thank you. Also meant to say that part. This is my tiniest plant in the room only like a quarter bud if that

Ok I don’t know what you are growing so can’t say if that bud is meant to be that fluffy? What would help with bud rot is if you remove any dead/necrotic leaflets which will definitely attract fungal growth.

I made a whole bunch of seeds and it’s a mixture of several different types of genetics mixed with my auto pestilence male that I created on my own. This one looks exactly like my Second Sight female I used to own. It’s kind of cool actually, I can pretty much look at each plant, usually in veg, and know what the mom was. This one based off the bud structure is Second Sight, which was a low yielding fluffy bud plant. I have another plant that is really exciting me, it’s panama powerhouse x (purple auto male/pestilence) she has me very excited lol. I’ll post pics when I get home

At this point I have bred the auto trait out of the gene pool but I do still get occasional autos. I lost all the females except two, my favorite which is Pestilence another called White Castles by nirvana seeds, which I almost lost through neglect but was able to get her to bounce back. I still have thrips in my room, which is pretty discouraging. No matter what I do they stay around. It’s been pretty depressing and really caused me to neglect everything 😔. I probably need to take a break or something to let them die off. I’m going to do that when I move later this year 😔. Going to let everything die off

Chin up brother. Thrip are easy to beat spray with horticultural oil every 3 days for 3 weeks. I use it at quarter strength.

Thrips are not easy to beat but I will do what you are suggesting. Horticultural oil is that what sns203 is? I have a little bit of that left tried it last year it ALMOST worked I probably stopped too soon. Is there anything I can buy from a Lowe’s/hd/Wally or do I have to go to grow store?

Ok I found some made by bonide at Lowe’s locally

Is this stuff safe to spray on bud? I wash most of my bud but I still avoid spraying them with anything at all

Yes thrips larvae are in the soil so you need to keep spraying so you get them when they are in adult phase and have moved up to your leaves. If you stop too soon you leave a whole new generation sitting in the soil and they will simply move up to the leaves and continue the party.

Unfortunately I’m not familiar with brands in the US. Neudorff pyrol is what I use and you only need a very small amount to clog up the insects and kill them. It is sprayed on as an emulsified solution and when the liquid dries it leaves behind an oily residue that gums up the insect and kills it. I have used it on bud before out of desparation but I don’t recommend it.

Start with very low doses using the product you have and see what happens, by the time the liquid is dry you should see dead bugs!

Don't spray this stuff (Pyrol) or something similar on the buds! It contains pyrethrine and rapeseed oil. The first one is poisonous for you in every form and the second one is bad when smoked. Besides that it ruins the smell and taste of your weed. I speak from experience. Don't do it in flower! Only in early/mid veg. The dead leaves in your buds are a sign the life of your plant is over and you should harvest it. Waiting longer could lead to real budrot/mold.

Yes thank you forgot to warn about that. Don’t smoke products containing pyrethrins.
