Is this a temperature problem?

My temps are around 85 when the lights are on. I know that is to high but is that what is causing this yellowing. This is my first grow so im struggling some.

This is one of the plants with the most yellowing

Here is all of them the one on the bottom right has very little yellowing and seems to be doing really well, but im worried about the others.

Please help!

Im not sure. I need to get a tester. They started turning about a week after I put them in a soil mixture of 12 percent perlite 2/3 a cup of bone meal and 2/3 a cup of blood meal. This was two weeks ago. Before that they were in organic choice soil straight from the bag. They are at four weeks now. I fertilized with miracle grow all purpose plant food a few days ago. Seems to have no effect on the yellowing.

Hey Marley,

I'm all organic - foxfarm all the way. I have had the exact same thing you are and more nutes wont solve it.... it's your soil's pH.

Remember that soil is not like hydro in that you dont adjust the pH of the water, but instead adjust the soil's. This seems backwards to most who worry about dumping 7.0pH'ed water on a plant.

The key you're missing is 1tbsp of dolomite lime per gallon of soil. Make sure you do NOT get hydrated lime, as this will just burn the piss outta the ladies. You get dolomite mixed in there and your plants will love ya.

Btw - 85 wont cause this unless the leaves are getting hotter than that...so make sure you're keeping the temperature sensor at the same level as the canopy (I usually put mine right on the leaves) - as this will give ya the most accurate reading.

Good luck!

Thanks Klutter much help!
I was gunna get some lime but didnt because all they had where big bags and i didnt realize how important it was. Do you know where i can get small amounts of lime instead of those big ass bags they have at home depot? I know they would last a while but when i only need around a few tablespoons it just doesnt seem practical.

fox farm isnt 100% organic its organic based

i believe his soil mix was just to hot duder did ya even mix the bone and blood meal into the soil for a few days if not gaurenteed the soil has hot spots in it.
if i add bone/blood meals to soil this is what ive done.

for veg 2 tblspn blood meal 1 tblspn bone meal 1 tsp dolimite lime per gal soil, i'll mix this into soil every day few time each day for about 1wk.

for flower i use 2tblspn bone meal 1tblspn blood meal 1 tsp dolimite lime per gal soil and mix as above.

with this mixture ferts shouldnt be needed for 2-3 wks n/p, when i add ferts to my water i add them then adjust the waters PH to 6.5. its good to keep water PH for soil between 6.0 - 6.5. most soil purchased is ph ballanced from 5.5-6.5 dlimite lime helps keep soils PH stabel longer. when i use ferts in water the plants get 1 plain water the next is water with fetrs in it. i like to alternate i'm approx 90-95% organic with my grow calmag+ and sweet are the only 2 ferts i use that arent 100% organic

Yes maj i let my soil mix set for 2 days before i transplanted into it. How do i get the lime into the soil without transplanting to bigger pots. And i am fixing my heat problem with some computer fans that i ordered.

Did you add dolomite lime to your soil mix? You need calcium and magnesium. If you didn't add the lime, you can sprinkle 1 1/5 teaspoons of powdered/pulverized not pelletized dolomite lime per gallon of soil mix onto the surface and water in. Use 3/4 teaspoon 15-30-15 miracle grow per gallon of water and add 1/4 teaspoon epsom salts occassionally along with it to supply sulfur.

Better idea: Repot the plants trying to get the old soil off the rootball (try using a garden hose) but don't add blood meal, bone meal, etc... Only add 2 teaspoons dol. lime per gallon of soil mix. Also add 3/4 teaspoon per gallon of mix powdered gypsum to supply sulfur. Be sure to really mix the lime and gypsum with the soil well. Use 3/4 teaspoon 15-30-15 miracle grow per gallon of water. If you didn't add the gypsum, add sometimes 1/4 teaspoon epsom salts in the water too to supply sulfur.

Adjusting the ph of your fert water after adding everything gives best results. Try for maybe ph 6. Always water till alot of runoff out the bottom occurs.

I think it looks like nute burn... like Majpothead said... hot soil. I don't grow in soil (yet) so I can't be sure. I'm having my own problems with hydro this week. Good luck marleymar
