Is this a K deficiency?

I'm all organic so all amendments are in the soil. I water occasionally with a guano tea (using high P guano's right now) and regularly with molasses and LK. Is this a K deficiency?

it's hard to tell from the picture. if the colors are accurate i would say it is a N deficiency.
the leaves are completely yellow.

K usually has necrotic spots on the edges/tips.

again, can't tell from the picture but i would say N if those leaves are at the bottom of the plant.

just in case there is some sort of salt buildup or ph problem
Id flush thoroughly with half strength nutrients (ph'd of course) and then start diagnosing from there

if you use sugar additives, you don't need to necessarily go half strength
-the sugar will really help recovery with the plant (just dont overdo it and cause rot)

some sort of kelp or b vitamin additive might be useful as well in a very small amount to help the plant bounce back

The pic isn't color accurate because the plant was under the HPS when I took it, so that gives everything a yellow glow. The leaves are yellow from the edges inward, with green still taking up the middle and lower portions of the leaf.

Flushing won't do any good in my case since we're organic in soil, so all of the ferts are already in the soil (with the occasional light guano tea fed every few waterings).

I did add kelp to the guano tea as well, and it's also already in the soil.

I could be wrong here.. but a good flushing will rid the soil of the salt buildup and the additives you add in your tea then water with get used and need to be replenished.

Thing is, I've only watered twice with a light guano tea since germination over 60 days ago. So I doubt there's much salt buildup as the only other additions to my waterings are molasses and Liquid Karma. The big negative side of flushing an organic grow is that it'll also flush out some nutrients that are built into the soil, and the beneficial micro organisms that I've worked so hard to "grow" in this soil.

I think for now I'm going to just watch them. There is only about 15 days left (I hope) until harvest, so I think they'll be good as long as this doesn't spread. Thanks for all of your input!

Hi KJ.

As it's the last 2 weeks now, I guess you'll only be giving them water anyway? It's a flush of sorts.. I was also told not to "over"treat N defs in flower, especially so close to the end. Again it's something I've gleaned from these pages but there will also be a natural amount of yellowing over the final weeks.

I have a raucous Calcium def in some of my soil plants, but this close to the end I've decided to ride it out and let them consume themsleves rather than treatng it too much and leaving lots of nasty flavours behind...I have been lightly treating this Calcium def in the run up to tomorrow (flush) which is the last time they'll be fed..but the buds look fine... and I don't plan on smoking any of the leaves no matter what colour they turn

anyway best wishes and good things to your grow

We're on the same wavelength here JS. I don't want to get to doing anything drastic this close to harvest, when it's likely just a minor problem as they still look healthy and the bud growth is still going strong (and crystally!). I won't be doing a flush because I'm all organic and water with only LK and molasses 98% of the time anyway (I'll do one more light guano tea this weekend, and then just LK water and molasses the rest of the grow).

if it comes to it mate, I'll pull the worst affected a week early rather than ruin the crop, ruin the taste or let them die. I'd rather not, but if it comes to it, I've already decided to bite that particular bullet.

If that is the case, I'll consider it a small price to pay for the benefit of knowledge... I guess with experiance comes the confidence to treat these things so close to harvest, but making a monumental newbie error at this moment in time would break my heart

personally, I think your plan sounds tight mate... but what do I know
