the 'pre-flower' you think yur seeing is a swelling between the 'joints' as i call it. It happens, but its not sex.
I'm with him on this one..

if you take a microscope and look right where the sex will be shown i can see from the plant it is showing its sex but its impossble to tell with out a microscope

if you take it and put it on the part where it shows its sex

you can tell

the males will have like a small stem like with a round ball with claws
the female will have a pear shapped look to it

i wish i could take a picture of what a very early male and female preflower looks like
i was going to before i got busted for my book and shit happend

Maybe I'm thinking too small when I wonder why knowing sex this early really matters

because you dont want to waste light on plants that are not female, if your not a breeder and want to grow sinsimea

you wanna get the males out as soon as possible

the less males and more females = less waste of time, money and nutrients

when i mean by money is the soil/ nutrients and whatever extra money you spend taking and tending to your plants

i found this to be a very helpfull way in finding very early sex and i find out that when in soil growth its epeically esentail because you have to transplant repot and your wasting soil on unwanted males

This is a picture of one of the males I yanked. Its kind of unfocused but you can tell how there are a couple little ball like protusions at the node. From all the plants I've ever seen the male preflowers will come in clusters. You'll only see one at first and then soon two and then three. Females on the other hand will usually only have one preflower on each side of the node.
