Well i cant grow cause one of my roommates is against it but i have a friend who would. The deal is I get him the seeds, he grows it, and gives me an 8th for $20 every week. I can't buy more than an 8th though cause he doesn't want me selling it. The thing is Im tryin to stop smoking so eating it may be my only option (cant vaporize either). Though id think ud need more than an 8th if say i was bakin them into brownies. The strain is a 12 week sativa though so it should be pretty powerful. Is this deal fair? Is an 8th enough for brownies and will i get a decent high even though its not that much?

Even if the deal isnt fair I really have no other option i dont think. I dont know anyone else who would grow for me and i cant grow cause of my living situation. So in my mind its either get an 8th of dank a week for $20 or dont.

having never grown before, or trying to help someone else to grow for the first time with a 12 week sativa is a good way to ruin said person on growing..... start with somethin easy. not some big assed sativa, i mean i dont get the feeling that you are a very experianced grower here man.... so don't over do it.

also, i think this sounds like a dumb plan, but hey, who cares what i think!

Yes your correct that I probably couldnt grow a 12 week strain. My friend however who ive known for 3+ years does know how. He used to live in the emerald triangle where he grew and was a hippie back in the day. So i dont see why this is a dumb plan. To be honest i know another guy who possibly would grow for me but he is a lot younger and would probably **** it up. I was going to give 5 seeds to him and 5 to the older guy but i may just give it all to the older one just cause i doubt the younger guy could handle the 12 week sativa. Any comments on whether an 8th would be enough if i was eating it in brownies?

I would tell my roommate that I respect his view on smoking so I won't smoke with him or around him if I can help it. However, my garden has nothing to do with him and if he ****s with it he'll regret it.

Yup. First rule is don't tell anyone. 2nd is don't put other people and/or their property in jeopardy. Unless that property is commercial :)

If you just plan on eating it you should look for some fast flowering high yielding strain, like chronic. No matter the weed, as long as its halfway decent, the brownies will be strong. That way come harvest you can take ur share and turn it all into butter. Then you can have some toast, cookies, milkshake, whatever you want anytime.

*edit* and eighth would be alright for one batch of brownies.

Another reason to convert to butter is when it is done you can weigh out like 2 grams of butter, and see if that does the trick, if it does you know exactly how much you need and how much you got left.

One ounce of leaves got me a solid 8 grams of butter, 2 grams and half a joint is enough for the rest of the day. (unwatched butter too, probally burned some)

Sounds like a great deal..................for your grower buddy.

I think half of his/your crop for free would be a good deal, plus expenses for materials and costs. What's he gonna do with the rest of the crop after you get your 8th for $20? Who is he to tell you what to do with the weed from your seeds after you have it? You tell him you won't sell it and if he doesn't believe you, then time to find a new friend. Isn't he selling it to you? Hypocrisy, thy name is......... $160 an ounce is not that great a deal, maybe from buddy dealer on the street, but not from "a friend" who is growing your seeds.

Shit, I roll 8ths into doobs.......definitely not enough to cook with, sorry.

Oh yah, 12 week sativa? Maybe under the sun, but expect 100-120 days for that to finish, if at all. My LUI is 12 weeks, and LUI stands for Legends Ultimate INDICA.

I have to agree with HeadyPete. It sounds like you would be getting the short end of the stick all the way, and your buddy will get a hell of a lot.

I've seen relationships like that go sour, when one guy is growing someone else's strains and whatnot. The only way to make it so no one feels ripped off is to pretty much split it 50/50 - costs, work, and bud. But definitely don't break rule #1 if there's two of in on the grow.

The only incentive to bring you in on it is you supply the seeds? Whats so hard about getting seeds that anyone would need to cut you any deals?

Verite: Well he is an old guy and doesnt really have any stoner friends. Im like his link to pot basically. So he cant send seeds to his place AND grow. He needs someone he can trust so he can have the seeds sent to a safe place. And yes yuor right the only incentive i bring is the supply of seeds and thats why i wasnt sure if it was a fair deal.

Headypete and Queenofgreen: Some good points but he is taking the risk to grow and I can see how he wouldnt want to give me half since he's afraid ill sell some of it and get the heat on him. He has a job and his nosey neighbor has already hinted that she knows he smokes. Hes just being careful.

Also the guy is paying for the setup which i just cant afford right now.

Why not just eat the bud? Get your 8th and instead of smoking it, eat it. No baking it into goodies or treats just flat out eat the sucker. If you want put it in gelatin capsules, finely chopped or ground. You can get those at any whole foods or vitamin store, an herb store or perhaps your supermarket. Call ahead to save time and frustration. But yeah..just eat it. Toss it up in a salad or something. Chop it up and eat it on a spoonful of yogurt....

it's much healthier and the high is longer lasting and willhit you ina totally different way, which I'm sure you already know.

Thanks for the advice but wouldnt making it into cannabutter be way more potent or do u think the difference is negligible?

If you do this, be wary of him all of a sudden a month after gettin your first 8th of him offering you something like an 0 for $80 or something to the effect of way to good to be true. You mentioned you're his only connect to the weed world and that his nosey neighbor is probably on to him. that puts you right in the position of if something goes wrong and he needs to rat someone out/setup a bust deal to reduce his sentence/save his ass, then YOU are the FIRST one who will have the opportunity of gettin F***ed

even some BF/GF, husband/wife grow team's don't mix (usually 1 is the gardner the other the cheerleader)

...anyway I've grown in all the above scenarios, and the only way it works for me is to grow solo.

If I were you I would get my own place where you can do whatever the hell ya want

If i could grow myself i would but its just not possible. Thanks for the input. I dont see this workin out either but its all i have to work with =/

thought i replied to this but i guess i didnt...your right that is something to think about. the law will make u do crazy things. anyways i really think the guy should at least sell me a quarter for 40 a week...isnt that reasonable?
