Is there some new rule at hospitals?

I thought you just needed insurance for a doctor to work on you...heard a stop of a kid that was high was stabbed in the butt and robbed. He went to the hospital and they refused to work on him even though he had insurance. They said they don't work on drug related injuries or something like that! Crazy...has anyone else heard things like this?

I've never heard of such a thing. Maybe it's just in your neck of the woods? Drug related or not, if someone is injured, they need to be fixed!

yea uh..thats horse shit..they cant DENY you or KICK you OUT...but they can sure as shit make you WAIT for ever....my dad was an ER doc and he told me of a few cases where the ER was so jammed on a friday or saturday that people actually died in waiting room.....Myself personally i had to wait 8 hrs in horrible..horrible excruciating pain, there was no place for me to lie down so i had to lie on the floor, i was completely doubled over in pain and could not stand let alone sign myself in.....they finally got me a bed and gave me an IV almost 9.5 hrs into my arrival for a kidney stone, that morphine was like BLISSSfull heaven and took the pain away in one mystical tingly wave i think thats when i became a opiate head). I cannot begin to explain the pain i felt but i can tell you i dropped to the ground and didnt get up crying like a little bitch the whole time(uncontrollably, beleive me i didnt want to try the tears just flowed)....turns out i had a 3 mm stone, they gave me morphine and when that wore off ihad to beg the nurse for more she thought i just wanted to get high but i was in serious PAIN! i had to call my father who as i said was an ER doc to convince the doc i was in that much pain and that i shold be dosed again(wich they did, but otherwise i woulda had to go home with a shitty script for vicodin and probably some horrible pain). Kidney stones suck and so do hospitals, i didnt have insurance i think that had something to do with it..but i did have plenty of cash(they didnt know that0, the doctor treated me like shit till he spoke to my father.....the dumb shit for brains doctor forgot to do a follow up with me and give me a strainer and explain to me evrything about my condition, he figured since my dad was an er doctor iwould be fine, well when the bill came i disputed it told them they didnt even give me a strainer to strain my piss to retreive the stone, my dad backed me up i even threateneed to sue, no word from them yet...but im not paying that ****ing bill they didnt even give me a fcking strainer for my urine, andi had to beg for another shot of morphine)....i wouldnt wish that one my worst enemy...well maybe not....our hospitals suck....if your not a rich person forget it dood you got problems...

They can not treat you and lie about it. That is what I have been hearing their insurance companies have instructed them to lie.
