Size of light, size of grow space ,nutrients used ,grow medium used.
Grow method used ( coco , DWC , flood and drain etc) .
Strain of grow if known .
Room temperature and humidity, PPM and pH readings, water temps etc
Watering schedules.
Basically anything you think might help a novice is generally good to include in a journal .

thats what i got aswell, 4x4ft flood and drain. What substrate are you using? How often will you water in the veg fase, or do you mean continus flow?
I have no substrate apart from a 50mm cube of rockwool in basket fitted into the lid ,I dont like having medium it's time consuming to clean for next grow and an added cost that's unnecessary.
The bell syphon floods and drains continuously it takes about 30min to fill buckets and about 20min to drain.
This process is the same through the entire grow .
This is a video of the bell syphon in a different set up but shows it working.

It all depends on how much and when you update it. And grow style.

In coco, our grow style, it could be a good idea to update at watering. Make note of temps/rh either the value or the range (min/max). Note EC/ph in and EC/ph out. And some nice pics of course. All of this will make it much easoer for people to help since you dont have to ask for this info.
Maybe something about your personal impressions, especially if there is many phenos or genetics.
When you start: go thru your equipment and grow conditions. The genetics. Grow style (scrog, top etc)
Another thing you can note here is what type of interaction you want: some like people to comment and discuss, so e prefer if you dont clog the thread. Generally its good manners to not throw yourself at someone's grow thread uninvited and tell them how theyre doing everything wrong.

But really theres no set way of doing it, just put what you feel is important, peeps can always ask you if they feel something is missing. The most important thing is that you enjoy your grow :)
