Is there any way...

........to know where the choppers routinely fly. Or what time of year?

Do these guys stick to a pattern, or is it random? :chin:

Im worried, we cant do the 3 hour drive to our spot next year...It was just too much driving...We had a nice spot that was free from chopper worries. Now Im forced to move to an area I dont have any info on, asfar as chopper activity, and busts....I know people grow in the area, and have been successfully for years... there are prolly twice as many outdoor growers, around the new area, than the old....but ive never heard of busts or any rippings...

I need to know more, before I stick my neck out again..Help?

I dont think they make that information public. The only way to get an idea is experience with seeing them or not. In my situation they're around and usually come a couple times in the fall.

The best thing to tell ya is to blend them in as best you can, plots of up to 6 or 10 depending on light of the location. Don't plant in rows or patterns to let them blend in better. Several small spots, is the only way to go when there are heli's around.

Personally,I would drive the 3 hours if i knew i could get a way with sunnier locations with low risk of survailance by heli's. Its your gas(money) and time though. You've got a few months to think about it.

tie your plants down and try to keep them more secluded if you are going to move to the new spot.
i just found out this year that choppers actually do fly around my area, they hadn't before, so i am rethinking things for next year. good luck.

oh, as for when they fly, its more around this time of year. pot plants are generally taken care of better then the surrounding plants so they tend to stay greener longer then the surrounding vegetation. i am finding this is particularly true this year. its easier to spot the green amongst all the darker, dying vegetation around the pot so it's more cost efficient to make their flights in the fall. plus, they get a bigger yield from their bust and therefore more tax money to spend on their stormtroopers in the future.

I grow amongst pinon and Juniper trees. They are the only cover I have...Maby some spread out scrub oak and sunflowers..The girls stand out from the air all year long. It suuuuucks....Thanks for the reply.

They found 700 plants from the air this year in my state. It was one of the wettest years ever...

I have heard of 2 harvested crops this year, in the new area... :chin:
