is that water dripping from air conditioning wall unit in fact distilled water?

Yes, that is distilled water because of the principle it's collected from humid air. But the surfaces it touches till if gets out of the drain of the unit might put contaminants into it. Meaning dust, bacteria, toxic compounds and heavy metal traces. Even regular distilled water is sometimes made in dirty industrial equipment so dunno, it might be as safe to use the A/C water for plants.

Its condensed water vapor, not distilled water. Distilled water requires boiling and then condensing the steam which removes the impurities.

As explosive says condensed water from an AC unit may contain bacteria, molds, and toxins mostly from the surfaces its running over/thru.

Years ago an outbreak of Legionnaires disease was thought to be caused by AC run off.

It will be much cheaper to go out and buy a gallon of distilled water.
Compared to using who knows how much hydro to make 1 gallon with
the AC unit. It's probably good water for plants though. Test it out on
one plant for now.

thinking about collecting this ac water in 5l bottle then boil it for 10min then filter it thru cofee filter.
Think it will be as good as distilled in the end.

thing is got 2 ac units at home which produces shitloads of water in this heat.
will test it on plants and im sure it will be better than this horrible tap water over here.

feel excited about this :)
wondering about ph ec etc.

boiling that water will take care about that or no?

Test the pH to end the doubt.

It's probably close to neutral = pH 7.0 unless it reacted with something beforehand.

I don't think I would bother filtering it. Isn't it clear?

Should take care of most living things but will not help with toxins.

Just to clarify, I doubt it would really be much harm to plants unless the unit was a complete cesspool but I wouldn't recommend drinking it.

I still have no idea why people want to use distilled water for their garden.. IT'S BAD for you and your plants...

Distilled water is great for steam turbines in power plants because there are no minerals in it to build up on turbine blades and cause it to get out of balance spinning at 10,000 RPM...BUT,

all life, be it flora or fauna, NEEDS the natural minerals which are found in water...

Distilled water will actually absorb the minerals already in a plant or animal, and take them away from that plant or animal through transpiration or urination....

Use rain water, or just get a filter that will remove the chlorine that is added to your tap water if you are worried about it...

RO water is not really good for you or your garden either...

Of course you have to use cal-mag, dont just throw ro water or distilled water into your medium.

Anyways, You can do a 2 stage filtration.

Buy a uv sterilizer for aquirium about 30 bones then the output of that runs into a container full of activated carbon to remove some dissolved solids. Replace carbon every month. You can get the carbon at the pet store, depending on your water tank capacity, change the carbon as needed. If you run the water through some activated carbon you'll see the ppm drop.

the results will be as good as RO.

there is an ongoing long debate on this, but if you are on a healthy balanced diet you consume enough minerals that you dont need the ones from the water. its the cleanest you can get

The water that comes from my dehumidifier is ph 7.0 and ec 0.0, I use it for seedlings until true leaves appear. It's also handy for foliar feeding.
I'm lucky enough to have a well to get reservoir water from, but it is nice to have (pretty) pure water sometimes.
