Can’t tell by pic . White hair usually means not ready . Best to look at Resin glands look for cloudy/amber glands . If they are clear it’s not ready . Are you cutting due to weather ?

Next two days are heavy rain. I don’t have a loop I lost it during my last move. Last year I my MOB outdoor had tons of white hairs and was done. I’d say probably has 25% red hairs atm.

I took these ones already...sour bubble, runtz, do z dos

Hey mate,

1. Wow your grow location looks amazing.
2. Why didn't you give us close up photos of the buds? Your photos are very very bad from a perspective of predicting harvest timing..
3. It looks like you have immature lower buds on that plant (from the distanced photo) so it looks like it's definitely a good 1-2 weeks away.. but because your photos are so zoomed out I could easily be wrong...

Thank you...outdoors always flusters me, inside is easy to tell when is done imo. And to top it off I just had 2 4x4 tents come down a week ago so I’m swimming in bud atm(I prob should have timed better as is a ton of work....good and bad problem I guess)

I will update with some better pics in a couple hours to hear everyone’s opinion on if ready. Also I’d like to thank you guys or gals for taking the time out of your days to comment.

Some inside shots of other work from few months ago at old house and an outdoor MOB from last year...just for fun.

1. indoor MOB
2. indoor runtz
3. outdoor MOB last year
4. indoor sour lifesaver pheno 1
5. Indoor sour lifesaver pheno 2(cotton candy to the max)
6. some veggie shots cause why not?

I have to agree with everyone else that the picture you provided was too far away to be able to given any conclusive evaluation. I will say that overall it looks pretty good but if you're uncertain give it a little more time. Sounds like from what you've said about other recent harvests you could probably benefit from waiting a bit longer. I'm in MD so the temps probably aren't much different. If so then I would say just let them go longer until you've at least processed some of what you've harvested already. If I were in your shoes the only thing that would make me rush to harvest is if they're forecasting an early frost or an extended cold period (even if it doesn't come with a frost). If the days are in the upper 50's to 70's though I say let them go a bit more. Now all that being said it probably would be okay if you did take them down now, maybe they're not at the peak of ripeness but I bet they're close enough. Hairs are a fairly unreliable indicator. I saw were you said you've lost your loupe but if you have a camera or one of the newer smartphones (like the iphone 13 pro) that has a macro setting you should be able to get some images that are magnified enough for at least you to judge your trichomes. If they're mostly cloudy (like in the 90% range) then you can cut them down without harm but if you let them go a bit longer they might pack on a bit more weight.

The number one mistake people make is, we take our weed too early and then kick ourselves in the ass. You can wait a little while longer if you want better weed for most of those plants. I noticed on one plant the main stem is turning yellowish and that's a good indication she may be ready now. If the outdoor plants have dark green stems they need more time outdoors. A little rain won't hurt your plants' don't be so afraid and harvest too early. The rain will not hurt the resin unless there is Hell. If you have good drainage in the soil you shouldn't have a problem with mold either. Hold what you got and get the very best weed for this year. Beautiful photos! 😎

Of course close up shots will make it much easier to tell which stage of ripeness they're at. Even so I can tell they're not done yet. But that doesn't mean they won't rot after a couple days of rain. Which means you're playing chicken with the rain gods, who'll blink first? A lot depends on how hard up you are for ganja, how high your tolerance is, and how easy it is to score good stuff at a decent price. If there's a drought and this is all the ganja you'll see for the next 6 months I'd take most of the tops and leave the rest to finish. If there's lots of stuff around, and losing a few buds to mold is no big deal, and you have a high tolerance, I'd wait for it to finish. Smoking immature buds gets old quickly, your tolerance gets high and your friends get tired of it faster then you.

The bigger the buds the more likely they are to rot. I'm in the same predicament, mold showing and stuff a few days away from being done. I'll be taking tops and leaving lower stuff to finish. Outdoor is usually harvested much too early, it's one of the reason it has a poor reputation. Good outdoor that's fully flowered is easily as good as indoor but people get itchy about thieves, mold, and wonder-struck by the big frosty nugs. They see a day or two of rain in the forecast and chop, only to have two weeks of sunny weather afterwards. Ganja can take a day or two of rain as long as it gets the chance to dry out.

Wind dries buds quickly after rain, that's another factor to consider. If buds are sitting around waterlogged for 3 or 4 days it's not good. From your 'finished' pics it looks like you know what you're doing, can't tell for sure but they look either done or close to it. The more finished a bud is the more likely it is to mold, one of the shittiest parts of this deal. An immature bud usually does fine in wet weather but as soon as it gets to harvest it molds whenever a cloud rolls by.

Why do the picture get flipped around from the numbers I assigned to them. Yesterday they were right and today it moved them? Does anyone have any insight.

Yes therevverend, I started growing about 13 years ago and of that time I’d say about 65-70% of the time the gardens(in/out) have been running. At the same time I don’t know why I’m like this but if something goes wrong in a grow and I already know the answer and probable outcome I still like to ask again for reassurance for some reason when mistakes are made. It’s weird.

But for some reason judging outdoor plants finishing has always made me second guess and get flustered. Indoor on most hybrids/indica I’ve found it easy to know when are done.(even though I still write down when the light cycle flip starts as inside sometimes some spots are perpetual and others spots all at once both running at the same time so can be hard to keep track) really just depends what’s going on in my life dictating how the flowering needs to take place and also if I’m adding new genetics from seed to check out I do perpetual so if have problem plants/herms/mix-sexed I can bump them off and fill the spot again quickly when going through a lot of seed stock so I’m not waisting any square footage of the light print.

just a few old pics too for you picture lovers from a few months ago(even though I know is an outdoor section I’ll throw in some both)

Here’s some dried bud shots for yinz....
All the years and all the different forums I’ve learned off of, posted on, forgot screen names and had to make new ones, and drooled over other people’s pictures I have never posted any pics myself. These all are just point and shoot on an IPhone 12(with DA BUS as background 😁) so nothing spectacular, but I figure I’d contribute a little back to everyone that took their own time and posted pics on all the forums along the way for guys like me to see.

-Sour Bubble pheno 4
-Sour Bubble pheno 14
-Runtz
-Homemade QWISO (Fire Farms-Free Zoo)(Treestar freebies)

I’ll post some Seed Junky’s Wedding Cake bud shots later and maybe some others. If you guys can’t tell already I’m a huge fan of BOG Sour bubble, it’s a great breeder IMO and very hardy strong full indica. I’ve had fan leaves bigger than my head off them.

Btw I am FAR FAR FAR from a pro. I’m the master of second guessing myself when growing outdoors and even indoors when mistakes happen and when don’t. I’d also like to thank everyone on this forum as well as others visiting from other forums that I probably learned off of. I have been fortunate to have and continue to learn by the day from everyone that has been kind enough to share their knowledge. I also try to pass on any knowledge I’ve acquired over the years to others when can.

No need to post the plant from first post, I took a few tops and left rest to finish. All other outdoor plants left will come down over next 3 days, I will post some chop pics.

I just started and am in the middle of setting up a new room still and moved a few plants in so far but here’s a shot of a smaller cola off some Seed Junky’s Wedding cake. (I took some pictures of the big colas and when went to post this I noticed I didn’t take pics of them I accidentally recorded video of them 🧐😩)
Anyways....

Seed Junky’s Wedding cake pheno #3 day 45

Also a Sour Lifesaver leaf pic & a Sour Bubble Pheno #15 bud shot and Gavita pro 1700.

Outdoor chop pics coming soon then I’ll end this mess of a thread and start a proper grow thread for the first time ever...

If they were in a protected space, like your back deck, you could let them go a few more weeks.

But if they're outdoors and weather forces the harvest ... oh well.

Many strains are like White Widow. Known for putting on its trichomes the last 2 weeks.

Patience at the end can make a HUGE difference.

Which also means daily inspections for mold.

No need, I’m on the east coast and the strains have a lot of indica in them. Flowering for me starts around early august....

im well within the done range

thank you for the comment thought 🙏👍🙂

Harvest pics....about to add another indoor harvest in the room in few days, plus have another room with two indoor 4x4 tents harvested drying....shit is getting to be crazy....got a gang of bud atm and gonna be making tons of bubble hash to press into rosin soon too.
