Is promix hp a soil, or a soilless meduim? does it have any nutes in it, or is it sterile like rock wool? what is the best ph range to water with? what nutes are best to use with this meduim? are there some addatives that need to be add to it? thank you, peace..

IT is a soiless medium no nutes are added to the HP promix. It is just peatmoss, perlite, lime as a buffer for PH and a wetting agent to make water absorb easier.

Hey sleepy,

Did you add any perlite to the bx? Last run I added about 10-20 percent perlite to the bx and this time I was lazy and didn't add anything to the bx. My from seed plants seem to be lagging behind compared to the last ones w/ the added perlite. Perhaps I am watering too much. They just don't seem to have the vigor as last time. Also I have kept my ph for watering (no nutes) at 6.3 instead of the 6.0. This time my plants seem to be about 1/3 the size as last grow. (for the same time of growth)

Maybe I will find a place locally which will order promix hp as I don't want to have to mix the perlite w/the bx.

What do you think? Thanks so much.

Most definitely add pelite to the bx mix. Im using it for the first time, so far so good. Previously i used ocean forrest with pretty nice results. Mariman, i think wether u use hp or bx u should add extra perlite. MY mix now consists of 3 parts bx, one part ocean forest. Some extra worm castings, and some steamed bone meal. Also some mighty myco. I noticed on the premire website that all the new mixes are supposed to have beneficial bacteria in them i dont think mine does did anyone get this version? Im a big mychorriaze fan has anyone had any experince with subculture from general hydroponics? peace.

I like the BX. Fuck, my nursery in the winter tries to rape me for $44 a bale, and buy 6 for every crop, in the summer, its $24. I found a new place thats $21.50 year round

Bibit, and anyone else using the bx, do you add perlite. Its such a pain in the ass to mix that shit up.

Purple&Green-
I love the Pro Mix HP. It has a small charge of synthetic nutes in it that will only last about one watering or so. It also has a small amount of dolomite lime and a wetting agent as well.
If you want to do an organic grow with it I can tell you how I've used it.
I like the 3 cubic foot loose bags. I use one bag of that, a 30 pound bag of worm castings (see my sig line) and a cubic foot of extra perlite. Then mix in 5 cups of powdered dolomite lime.
Now that's an organic soiless mix that can be used at any stage of growth from seed germination to harvest. It's also good for clones/cuttings as well as veg and flower.
Just use your favorite organic nutes for a super medium for growing.

would bio bizz nutes be a complete enough feed using promix hp???

burn1- promix already has dolomite lime added to it. why would you add more? What nutes do u use?

thanks for the info from ya'll, on this wonderful meduim:smile:

P&G-
You need the extra magnesium and calcium the powdered dolomite adds. I use guano and kelp. You can use other organic nutes like dried blood and bone meal. There is also alfalfa meal, cottonseed meal and others.
Tell me what you have available and I'll suggest a recipe.

burn1 thanks!

promix hp plus mycriorise
a couple bags of fox farm ocean forest
chunky perlite & regular size

soil addatives:
rare earth
black diamond
peace of mind all purpuse 5-5-5
epsom salt

nutes:
pbp grow
flora nova grow
bio bizz grow
fish emulation 4-1-1
florilous plus
rhizatonic
maxi crop liquid sea weed (green bottle)
primal harvest powdered guano(bloom)
bud fuel by grotek(a flowering kick starter)

i used to buy sunland potting soil and did great for years. then last summer i got a bail of promix bx and planted in it outdoors. i used bio bizz nutes and it was some of the best pot i have ever smoked. i wanted to get the same resualts indoors. so i got some promix hp w/ mycrorise. i mixed the hp with some peace of mind all porpuse 5-5-5 and some rare earth & black diamond. then, i don't know what happened, my plants were all ready not doing good, and after i trans planted them into my mix the just started getting worse. some are pale yellow w/stunted growth and red stems. and others are green with the older leafs getting brown spots and dieing, and have red stems & stunted growth.what is that red stem shit? i dont know what the fuck to do? it pisses me off, because of all the time, love and money put into them and they are still fucked up! i'm about to scrap this promix(even though i would love to learn how to use it) and go with the old way. anyways thanks for the help, burn1. peace.

P&G I think u may be using too many different nutrients from too many different brands. As for the soil mix the additives may be unneccesary. The combination of the Ocean forrest and the pro mix alone creates a nice loamy, fertile, well draining medium. Perhaps the diamond black, rare earth and 5-5-5 in very small quantities could be added to the mix, or if soluble you can add them in liquid form. As for the nutes i reccomend you pick one brand for your base n-p-k feeding program, Ive never used bio bizz(except for their root juice) but i too want to try them. If possible get the entire bio bizz line all their products sound great. If u already got the grow just get the bloom and the algamic, i think they something called top max which is supposed to be good and ive had excellent results with clones and transplanting with their root juice. I just think indiviual companys products tend to work better when used in conjuction with one another. Throwing in anothers company additives here or their dosent hurt but try just using bio bizz for grow and bloom and their enhancements products and i think youll have good results, but always remember less is more. Good Luck and dont quit just find a mix and a feeding program that works for you and watch the plants let them tell you what they need.
