Is one of my plants a male/hermaphrodite?

sorry dude probaly not what you want to hear but its a male..

good thing about this is its not a hermie.. so you shouldnt experience other hermie traits in the females... (hopefully) i cant say you wont of course but just looks like regular sex auto seed so you get males and females...

its always hard but chuck it!! unless of course you want to use the pollen to breed with.. in saying this watch out as a little pollen can really make a lot of seeds on a female plant.. if you want to breed your own seeds this is good.. if you want the end products "buds" for consumption then you dont want any chances of the females getting pollenated and must throw away males at first sign..

if you see female pistils (hairs) coming out aswell then its hermie but if it has (balls) and how they drop like yours do then this is male..

hope this info helps and hope your females go good.

Concur. Can still be used in tinctures, balm, edibles. Pluck it, dry it, combine with other material to make said products.

wouldnt the THC content of the plant be so small as the plant is tiny and young in age so hardly worth it?

dont mean any disrespect i only ask so i can further educate myself if im wrong. thanks.

your welcome mate.. all the best with you ventures.. what strain of auto are you growing? im always intrigued by regular autos as most are female. and for some of us we want regulars.

Barney s farm , 3 sin tra bajo and 3 sweet tooth . I was hoping for 6 females but instead I'll have to settle for 5

send them a pic of the plant and your order from what ever company you got the seeds through and i would say they'll compensate you for this.. and hopefully there not tight and say they'll replace the seed but give you a 10 pack or something..
emails have got me a long way when ive had problems with companies and there products and most the time they'll be happy to hear about problems that there "strains" or products are having.. and most offer to compensate for this..
and email the herbies site directly..

you could always keep the male pollenate your 5 females and get a shit load of seeds for future.. but they will be regular sex seeds. but doubt you want to bother with this and would rather some seedless bud..

if you're "green" enough to not be sure if this is a male or not, you should destroy it, don't fuck around with it and end up with pollen in your grow.

you could change you "grow" to a "breed" though especially if your someone paying $10 odd for each seed.. you can make thousands of your own seeds and store them in the fridge and freezer and use them for the next 10 - 15 years if stored right.. and whats loosing 3 months to gain a lifetime of seed?

but i do get what this guy is saying... and can agree to some point.. but still this site in only for peoples oppinions so dont take someone telling you what to do and roll with it... read through everything and decide what suits you best and what you want to try from the info given to you..

one thing us "pot growers" are well famous for is not leaving things how they "should be" and experimenting..

good luck on your ventures either way you decide to go... but would be nice if you could keep this thread updated on what your going to do..

I would agree with you if he wasn't growing a seeds from a female plant that was chemically changed into a male, and then somehow produced male plants without a Y chromosome. He might get 1000s of seeds, but they'd have a sexuality more complicated than Bruce Jenner's :D

he brought 6 seeds that are meant to be female.. i dont think his done anything chemically to make this one turn male.. especially since the balls are hanging at such a young age.. reversed sex plants dont look the same regular male i would say from my experience.. so his planted 6 "fem" seed and one has come out pure male.. i think using the pollen from this would be safer than half of the pollen used by some companies..

for me ive reversed sex and inbred things for a few gens without ever coming across any drama so it would be very bad luck if this was to produce seeds that have horrible hermie traits but it can happen..

The mother plant was chemically treated to make fem seeds..that's what I meant by that.

Personally, I'm a nazi about my breeding plants and if I see something I don't like, it's gone. Like you said earlier, it's a difference of opinions, and my opinion is that a guy who has to ask if a plant is male or not probably shouldn't be chucking sketchy pollen. It's good for him to know that it's ok to experiment, but it's also good for him to know the "play it safe" route also. To each his (or her) own, and all that.

Sadly, I think you're right about seed banks and the op is proof of it.

i was just trying to delete my reply to your last message as i misunderstood you sorry and after reading it again and thinking on it i realised i had taken it wrongly.. so my bad on that.. excuse me..
and yes your on the ball with this one weed ninja.. and i'll give in and agree with these lads if you dont know what a male is then you should just stick to growing and not play woth pollen chucking as you may waste a lot of your times and efforts if you ever do want to breed look into it.. its great fun. and in saying ive bred fems i would like to state that i way prefer regular sex breeding.. but playing around is fun..
sorry for the confusion and the disagreement there first mr ninja sir..

and to the guy that started this thread you should really be in on all this aswell.. like if you posted this days ago and havent checked back to see what the answer is yet im guessing you have a high chance that some pollen could of already done its damage.. once those "balls" open up.....
