Now I know this is reaching far, but worth a shot. Anybody ever have a problem with their Helios 12 blowing out bulbs? Also, I should mention that i am using 600w bulbs w/ Galaxy Digital Ballasts.
I have eight 600w bulbs, all which have blown out at some point over the past couple weeks. Now before you say, "YES...IT'S YOUR BOX", let me catch you up real quick....
I set the room up, had EVERYTHING running, all 8 lights working fine for a few days. One night as I am in there doing some minor work, my Helios box starts shutting off and on, sounding like a pinball machine. I immediately unplugged the box, and had my electrician come over the next day. We found that 4 of the 8 bulbs were blown out. He said probably from the box turning off and on, that it blew the bulbs..he also said that the other 4 could go out too...if in fact it was from the problem with the box. The problem with the box was that the socket I was plugging the timer into, it was kinda loose, and whenever I brushed up against the timer, it would slip off of the connection enough to turn off and on.
So anyways, I replaced the 4 bulbs, and got everything back up and running. A couple days later, 2 bulbs are out when I go into the room. Well those 2 bulbs were 2 that had still worked after the box malfunctioning, so I took it as what my electrician said, that they could (and probably would) blow out sometime soon. Swapped them for new ones, and again...I'm up and running. Well the other day, I go into my room to find 3 bulbs out...2 which are the last 2 of the first 8 (ones that got blown out) and the #1 hood...the #1 bulb hood has a brand new bulb in it. So now...I'm back to wondering what the hell is going on in my room.
Like I said, I know this is reaching far...but any of you use any of these products and have had any similar experience with failure? Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!
