if you have some holes that are 5 gal and some that are ten gal, is it ok to put 2 plant per hole? or would that decrease yield?

In the past I have read on these boards all kinds of ridiculous bs on this subject, usually related to of all things root competition. But the truth is double planting increases yields by the amount of gross phenotype between the individuals plus the the added diameter by planting them apart.

double plant the bigger holes for sure. You won't get double the yield but you will yield more.

If you train the main stems more horizontally apart from each other using stakes it's a really easy way to do a lazy version of LST and yield even more.

I guess I have limited experience but I feel like a lot of this would have to do with veg time. If you give one plant the proper amount of time and care it will fill out the 5-10 gallons and yield just as much as 2 plants could in the same pot. But I think 2 plants would fill the pot quicker and give the same yield with less veg time.

Its not ok considering your pot size 10gal is small hole to be honest, if you had 100+ gal hole than maybe yes, but if you look up the "big plant growers thread" in Tom Hill section you will see these guys have 100gal and up to 800 ! gal pots for just 1 plant so...

It is absolutely ok to plant two plants per 10 gallon hole. Yield would be the same or even better. Plants like to have friends close around them. :)
