Is less really more?

I have heard that said dozens of times over the years.I've been growing about 13 years now and I've come to a conclusion and that is more is more. When my plant has a few nodes I use a tsp of PBP grow.Around 400PPM.As it gets larger 2 teas.and then 1 tbls(15 ml when they are a couple feet tall. All this time I have used it every watering.Dont try this with fox farm grow big you will burn thr fuck out of them.Anyway, the first couple weeks of 12/12 I'm still feeding 15 ml of PBP grow. Then I switch to fox farm tiger bloom the best stuff on earth.I feed 2 teaspoons every watering except for the last 10-14 days I give pure water.Dont be confused I know you've heard less is more probably a hundred times.Just try my way once I'm really trying to help you.Hell on PBP grow it says use every watering.Remember R/O water needs cal-mag

I feed 30ml per gallon of pbp during height of flower and have stellar results. I feel less is more for newbies. It is always good to find out how much a plant can take then back off some.

Not a fox farm fan, sorry there.

Glad you found a system that works!!

We grow on that theory....always! 1/2 strength nutes (flower only), water only when needed. AMPED up LED, good air circulation....viola`! SUCCESS!

I was taught start at a 1/4 strength and work up, it has served me well

Even though I run recycled organic soil I find the same method is superior, you can always feed a hungry plant and get almost immediate results (thus minimizing or eliminating the detriment) where in a plant with a root system that is burnt or nullified because of lockout need far more time to recover and respond (thus maximizing detriment)

subtle plant hunger cues are great ways to dial in plant nutrition to the cultivar PERFECTLY, because they are easy to fix and it is easy to calculate just what it took to get there, regardless of method. Start small and add single things in small bits and degrees to address small issues and you have the quickest way to understand a specific plants needs

it works better than soil test and microscopes (not that they are ineffective at measuring but when it comes to cultivar environment relations at some point it is putting the cart before the horse) because they can't tell you what specific cultivars require from their environments and those methods extol preset homogeneous profiles which is not congruent with the environment from which genes evolved in the first place.

thankfully the instinct of greed mixed with the American mantra of bigger is better most people over feed their shit from the get go and spent many rounds chasing the tail of invisible gremlins in their grow room.

so yeah less is more, but when you find that elbow room where it seems like all they want is more you started off moderately in the first place, an finding that sweet spot where you can push them a bit more, recall how you did it, apply, lather, rinse and repeat.

Is it all really that simple?

I blew through a quart of FF big bud in no time....It nice that it drops the ph for you, i cringe for the guy using ff with RO water though.

the ff big bloom almost works cool as a veg nute.

what did u not like about ff nutes... besides the price lol

I like what Weird said. Good point

I can taste FF nutes in the finished product, a musty basement smell taste if that makes sense. I do not like any fox farm products. Their soils are full of bugs and couches run through woodchippers and god knows what else.

As for Botanicare, it doesn't get any better than that, I've done side by sides and have not found a better product.

You would rather add less than more. It's like cooking if you add too much salt the food can be ruined and it is irreversible , if you add less you can always add slightly more as needed.
