One of my rooms is getting cold as fuck during lights out. Can I install a heater or element of sorts in to the AC air handler and attach it to a seperate thermostat to come on once it drops below 67?

Day time temps are btwn 79-81. I want night btwn 69-72.

yes you can purchase a electric coil that goes in the air handler. My heat pump for the upstairs in my house has a backup electric coil just in case the heat pump can't keep up if it becomes -10 or more.....

kind of a ghetto setup, but i have a small ceramic heater that sits in front of my intake fan. i have it set on its own timer to go on a half hour after lights off and switch off when the lights come on

Your AC should turn off at lights out and a space heater set to your min night temp should keep your temps in range. Depending on the size of your room.
Knowing the size of your rooms is usually large to massive you may need 2 or 3 strategically placed.
I have 2 base board heaters with a thermostat. I installed when I built my room that work great.

I use a couple ceramic heaters also... insulate well..
If adding a heating coil,, will probably wind up with some sheet
metal modifications. More of a pain then what its worth imo.
Not to mention another 220 line + breaker+ capacity, to be considered and that chit aint cheap either.
