Marijuana is what pharmacologists call a "dirty" drug. It contains not only psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), but 65 other cannabinoids which may modulate THC's effects and produce others of their own. It's therefore impossible to precisely define the effects produced by cross-medicating marijuana with antidepressants.

At least one major drug testing authority agrees. "SSRIs can and will elevate levels of THC in urine because the SSRIs are being preferentially excreted before the THC," observes Dr. Lester Lee, former head of the United States Olympic Committee's drug testing arm and director of Arista Medical in Huntington Beach, Calif. "Someone previously testing at levels of 50-100 nanograms of THC may wind up testing at 100-400."
ChaoticEntity said:SSRI's or Selective Serotonin Reuptake inhibitors work by not allowing the serotinin to be re absorbed thus leaving it in the synapsis longer. Marijuana has some cocurrent effects which means you'll have a plateau on some strains(indica doms) they just simply wont get you really really high, just kinda stoned. Sativa's seem to not interact the same way and often times can generate a more intense high than an indica can while taking SSRI's
DO NOT take any MAOI's, Benzo's(xanax ect..) or Tricyclics. DO NOT take St Johns Wort(it lowers the ssri effect)
Stay away from drugs that deplete serotonin such as X or any amphetimine derivitive.
what are you taking SSRI's for? If you're taking them for depression then stay away from heavy(overripe) indica dom strains, find a nice uppity sativa if you want to get high.
realize that if you are taking SSRI's for mental health effects then by smoking pot you're changing your baseline. In order to feel better and have a better grasp on the world I would suggest laying off the pot for a month, this will allow time for the cannabloids to leave the body, for your body to reach a sober baseline and time for the SSRI's to generate an effect so that you actually feel better and develop a "normal" baseline. By doing thing you'll learn how you feel, this will allow you to remember this in the future and will help prevent relapse.
hope the info helped, feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
