is fish bone meal too smelly to use indoors?

Has anyone used fish bone meal (I'm looking at Dr. Earth brand) indoors? The reviews on amazon make it sound like it will make my entire neighborhood smell like dead fish. Since I'm growing in an apartment, smell would be a problem.

I'd use high P bat guano instead, but I think I need a slower release form of P.

I've been using Dr. Earth's Fish Bone Meal indoors over the last few years and have had no issues. The stuff does smell nasty but after you mix it in with your soil and let it compost for a day or two the smell goes away.
