What's new

is an inline 117cfm fan good enough for a 250w hps?

i was originally planning on using a 150w hps to keep power consuption down but i think i want to get a digital 250w switchable ballast with a vented reflector. i already bought a fantek fx 4in that moves only 117cfm. will this be sufficient for a 250?

the box is 2x2x4'tall. very small.

i also got a can 2600filter that the fantek will be exhausting into.

The Fantech FX Inline Centrifugal Fan

is a top quality unit with excellent static pressure qualities (It pushes air real good.) It should handle a 250 no problem...unless the tubing run gets crazy long.
Heres an oldie but goodie ICMAG thread titled "Air cooled lights: the right way" that covers a lot of ground as far as Hood air cooling/ fan setups are concerned.

Hope this helps.

I would agree. That size fan is like a blower rated at higher CFM as far as moving air in a cabinet is concerned.
