So in the coldest months here my space that I have to grow drops to 59-60 degrees with the lights out. Is this a serious problem? They will only be going into the space during flowering. For now they are vegging nice and warm.
60 is a touch low, buut could be a lot worse
the issue you may have is with your humidity. If it lets say 80 under lights with lights on, and drops 20 degrees overnight, you may be opening your plants up to problems such as powdery mildew.
Yea like Dr Dog said just watch your humidity.I just had some plants flowering in a room that was droping down to 53-55 at night but my humidity was only 25 percent,i didnt finish them in there i moved them. They were in those condisions for almost 4 weeks and they were fine.I was just reading a seed company grow hints and they said 68-75 during the day and 53-63 at night;which is a 15 degree drop (perfect).IMO i wouldn't want to go below 57-58.I think your fine.Is the area warmer during the day?If so run the lights at night.Good Luck & Stay Safe!
High
My light on temp is usually round 65-70. With the lights of gets down to round 45-55 and i have had no problems what so ever. I do keep humidity low. Low temps+ high humidity = powdery mildew, so watch for that. My girls love the cool temps, and thrive on it. I really like how it makes the colors pop out and gives that nice purple/red coloring to the plants.
STAY HIGH!
PEACE!!
I'm running a basement grow in the NE,400 HPS. The furnace has some outlets to the basement but it is uninsulated. I have measured temps as low as 46f at night. Have not seen any problems so far.
