I'd love to hear the wisdom of others on the topic of irrigation of Pro-Mix BX in recirculating indoor systems.
I ask because I hear and see a wide range in strategies and results of the growers I know, and online.
All the growers I know locally use BX due to it's easy availability. Most top feed, drip or stream. Some ebb and flow. We've thought of switching to HP, just less convenient as it's not sold locally.
My main question is frequency. Some like their BX so far as 90% dry between waterings, some do a 24/7 drip(always saturated), between those we've tried watering till runoff every 1 to 48 hours.
Some say more frequent watering brings more oxygenated water to the roots, others feel partial drying of BX is best. I've seen plants look and produce everywhere from great to mediocre under all these schedules, so the BX would seem pretty versatile, but with so many other variables I still wonder which irrigation strategy is best??
We're slowly learning via trial and error, but the least possible error would be nice
Any perspectives and wisdom much appreciated! Thanks!
