Iron bacteria causing issues?

Hello all,

I was wondering if anybody has heard anyone ever having issues with iron-oxidising bacteria aka iron slime?:chin:
Thx
Your question prompted me to look up Iron-oxidizing bacteria. It caused a 'light bulb moment' for me. I have had an ongoing issue with rooting clones in an OxyClone. Well water definitely has iron content. Cuttings develop a 'slime' after a few days and slowly die. I think you have provided a probable cause.

What is going on with you?

Plants leaf tips eventually burn even with super low ppm. Sometimes I see a nuteburn along with a defficiency. Also can't seem to be able to flush everything out of the media during the last 2-3 weeks of flowering. I read that the bacteria oxidises with air and can cause leaf dehydration. Was wondering if anyone has ever had this issue. It seems to be worst with hydroponics which is why i was forced to go back to promix. My buddy used to have crazy iron water and his plants in promix never seemed to suffer. Some of the best smoke and amazing taste after a 3 week flush.
