i can't believe all the hype this piece of trash has recieved..the internet connection is slow too I heard from a friend who has one in Denver...he said the phone service is good though..
I myself..will not buy one..I sold my 80 Gig Ipod in my yard sale a few weeks ago...they're trash...I would go with a Zune if I were you.
iPod..more like iDud..and as 4 the phone..thye're gonna break down it's inevitable..they're just the "new" toy on the block..wait till fall when everyone really wants one..then we'll see how many complaints are filed for lack of super fast hi speed net connections.

i use a cell phone for one specific purpose and dont even use THAT that often. I dont like these combo things. If i want a digital camera i will but a good one, an MP3 player the same. I dont need an all in one. I actually long for the days before cell phones when we could be out of touch.
$500 dollars for an 8 gig mp3 player with a phone. Then, at least $50 a month for something like 400 minutes of service...yeah seems like a good deal.

I was pretty negitive about them when I first started reading about them, like you guys said, I thought that they would break and blah blah, but it really seems to me now that Apple has put enough time into developement that the iPhone should be really solid. Just the fact that you can watch youTube videos on it is going to make it pretty sweet. The only down side as someone said (aside from price) is that to have any fun with the iPhone you really need the full data plan which is very pricey.
All that said I recently got a new AT&T phone and while I could of waited a week or so for the iPhone to come out and spent all that money on one, I insted bought a Blackjack for 75 bucks and am very happy with how it works.

Not as good as the treo as far as internet on your phone goes, and way over priced. Hell do you no what i could do with $500 as far as seeds and growroom improvements got. I dont even have a ph or tds meter yet. my plants would be very upset with me if i spend $500 on a sidekick prototype. LOL

The first run with a new product is a risk, I'd wait it out a while and until more people have owned the phone first. You might end up saving yourself 500 bucks.

The IPhone is awesome!
The net on it is a full browser called Safari. It's NOT the stripped down version of the internet like on ALL other cell phones & PDA's, despite the claims of someone above saying that the Treo is better (to even entertain a thought like that, he obviously hasn't touched an iPhone).........it's not even in the same ballpark as the IPhone.
Stop by a AT&T cell store & play with one, they have demos on display. There are a few bugs rite now with activation (which is done thru ITunes on ur home PC) but a few bugs should be expected especially with a device that is lightyears ahead of anything else that is a cell phone. Check the visual voice mail & the music browser, the GPS maps are top notch also. I was very skeptical before it came out but after playing with 1 for the past few days.....I would drop the $499 for a 4gig or the $599 for an 8 gig with no hesitation. This device does EVERYTHING except give BJ's!! 3 touches of ur finger on the screen & you can get to ANYTHING on the phone.
59.99 for the cell service & for UNLIMITED internet combined is not bad at all, IMO.

Umm...that's a shit load of $$$ just for a phone ain't it? I have 2 phones..a motrola and a LG..the LG is da bomb..and the Motorola is too (cherry/fire red) pimp ass phones I must say.

The treo has been able to do that for years. Mine has maps, video, music email, internet and anything else the iphone can do but i have had my treo for over a year now. SO to me the Iphone isnt doing anything new. Sure the internet might look a little bit better, but honestly who the fuck surfs on their phone or watches video on their phone? I mean when i watch tv or look at a monitor i dont want the screen to be 2 inches big. So when i need to surf i go to my notebook as anyone with 2 cents would. However if im away from comp my treo can go online and get any info i need, just like i phone.
If you gotta get a phone so you can watch youtube on it, you got some serious issues. Better to get a hobby then watch youtube on your phone. I dont have that much free time to kill
