Into to breeding

I usually don't post on these forms, but Im wondering if someone out there could answer my question.
Ive started to breed cannabis for personal enjoyment, it really just started as me wanting to try to do it, and I've had much success, and enjoy doing it. I want to take it to the next level. Heres my problem, every strain in my garden, all of my mothers and such are strains created by other companies (Bodhi seeds, Exotic Genetix, Laplata labs, etc.) It would be down right snakey to use there genetics in a cross and sell the seeds as my own strain right? I would think so because thats there custom variation, and I don't fux with it.
But where do I acquire genetics I can feel free to make my own variation on?
Are those landrace or heirloom genetics?

If so, can I use any cannabis seed company that claims there seeds are "landrace" to start to make my own crosses with no accreditation to the source of where I got my seeds?

Are all strains just a mix of different landraces that have been breed to display there more appealing traits?

Please knowledgeable growers respond!!! If i have things wrong please explain the process!

It's always a good idea to state the origin of your hybrid's parents and give credit to your source.
Even when working with landraces.

You're the one who made the cross so you're the creator of said hybrid.

What are your goals with the seed you produce?
If you plan on selling beans and;
-you arent reproducing what is already being made you should be golden and can use what you like to make what you like.

If you're making seeds just for yourself then do as you please.

After all, once you purchase a thing, any thing, it is yours to do with as you please. No other person has a right to tell you how to use your items that you made a fair exchange for.

Thankyou for your helpful responses.

I have one more question.

Before I have seen plants (mothers or fathers) who are not landrace strains, and also have unknown backcrosses, however the plants are impeccable and have very consistent offspring. How do these strains come around? Is this the result of a grower going under the table and not accrediting the breeder whom he bought the original genetics from? Or is the grower just perhaps naming that perticular pheno as there own?

I guess I don't know where to get pure beans besides online seed-banks (how genuine are those anyways?). Any thoughts as to where I could acquire some genetics to start a good breeding project?

Also is there any known good books out there that go in depth into plant breeding that can be used as a reference for cannabis breeding?

Thanks again for the responses.
