Internodal bulges

That pretty much sums it up. I think more experienced growers will know what I'm referring to right away. Basically the place where the leaf or branch joins the main stem, there are 'bulges', like, a single blister around the internodal area. No discoloration, softness, slime, smell, etc. I 'think' it might be from wind-stress, as it seems not all my plants have it, and the ones on the outside exhibit this symptom more. Thanks for any help

Ive heard it called the muscleman pheno. My experience is those branches are more apt to snap at that point under lots of weight. Not good for the heavier yielders.

Okay, good to know, next time I'm in the grow-room I'll see which strains are doing it. 'Muscleman pheno' lol, never heard of it. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't any sort of virus or infestation or aliens or whatever :D

Ive seen this before; this is caused by when moisture and soil is close or near the area for some reason the plant trys to grow roots out of the area sounds crazy I know but it happend to me and I have seen it quite a few times.

Nothing you can do about it

Hi,

I would suggest (based on personal experience) that this phenomenon is probably not related to moisture or being near the soil or when "the plant trys to grow roots out of the area".

MynameStitch - If you could preface your assertions with some sort of language that did not present your comments as being authoritative on every post, then it might not rub people the wrong way (as much).

Perhaps trying to sound like the authority is not your intention. Maybe perceptions of you would be different if you asked questions up-front as opposed to what appears to be a culture of "first post mentality to guess the deficiency". (Or shoot first, ask questions later; trigger-happy, etc.)

Posting like an authority is risky because you may not always communicate all the necessary details (for a newb to use) in your terse and sometimes confusingly-worded posts. Often, your posts appear like you are in a hurry; too busy to edit for clarity of communication, etc.

I recommend pointing people to the information you are aware of, as opposed to delivering existing information in a manner that makes you sound like the authority.

It's often very beneficial to the community when the more experienced forum members (like yourself) point and link to older posts that discuss the same topic. Those older threads often contain golden nuggets of useful and yummy info. And, perhaps, you can use those other threads to support your own experiences.

Cheers!
Sativalicious

PS: if I could have PM'd you, I would have, however the rules do not allow me to use that feature yet.

This is based on my experience I had this happen to my plants that was closer to soil or had moisture to close to them but over all depending oin where the buldges are at on the plant is also important not to mention there is no picture he uploaded of his plant....... buldges higher up on the plant is normal

well its pretty obvious I know what I am doing, if I did not know what I was doing people would not ask me and come back to me when they need help; there would be all kinds of bad stuff being talked about me if I did not know what I was doing... perfect example is black velvet.

i am not saying I am authority; that is your assumption and you are the first person to ever say something like that to me. I still have stuff to learn no one knows everything. Not trying to be that way; sorry if I am.

You should go talk to Black velvet he is the one spreading bad news for every grower.

I do not know everything; just things like this are common questions and I Have been helping people out for years now......

I always ask for more information if there is not enough given; I do NOT guess what is going on with the problem; that is a recipe for trouble and disaster.

Se digital happys plant pic with the buldges; notice how the branches are coming out of the soil rather than just the stem... this is what I was refering to as being to close to soil..... if you notice on other plants that are like that the plant grows little nubs or bumps out the side of the stem; this is caused from being close to the soil or mositure. But like I said it depends on where the buldges are on the plant he is talking about because he does not have a picture.

As for my typing; I hate to type correctly; not to mention I am on a laptop and I am not used to the keyboard on it...
Its a very small keyboard and it's cramped :(

I agree with you on the typing part; I am not very busy now I have been for most of the year which is why I was not around much.

Most of the people I know here in the infirmary only post links to information that is to long to type out; if the information the thread starter seeks then other people like headypete, core, florigen2 huffnpuff all type out there discussions rather than showing them links unless again it's to long to type.

My main comment about the buldges on the plant was reefering to Happy's picture and not the thread starters; yes I am confusing sometimes I suck at english. I may make myself look stupid; but I am not stupid I assure you.
I am a computer technician, network tech and I know how to program in 2 languages C++ and assembler.

I got a better grade in German than I do in English and I am american born.
So yes I do make myself look dumb, but there is one thing about me you should know.... I do not care what others think of me if I am not doing something wrong to other people; now if I caused something that is my fault then I do care... but if I am not bothering no one or not giving out bad advice then why should I care what people think? I mean I do care what people think but not the way in form of english, typing errors and such.

So again you are the first person to say "you seem like you are authority" That is one thing I know I am not, nor do I act like one; but take my time out to help out others when I can use that time to do other things.

I am not angry just stating how I felt about your post. Please do not think of me as you expressed yourself, because that is not want I want to be.
I am glad some people around here express themselves in a cival matter besides me... lol

I always tell people to always express there opinion and have freedom of speech. Sorry if I come across like that if I do; I absolutely do not mean to come across that way.

hell yeah Sativalicious i cant stand the authorities that run around here, even if you guys dont mean to sound the part dont end posts with things like Nothing you can do about it. plants are the end results of genotype and environmental interactions, so theres usually not just one silver bullet answer to just one problem or feature.
Mynamestitch, hell yeah for calling out blackvelvet, that little brat is always up to something
blackvelvet get off the computer and go read a book
