Interior scrubber help

Hi all!
I have a bit of a problem right now.. Im currently day 47 in a 5'Wx11'Lx7'h sealed room. My inside scrubber is only pushing 180 cfm through a 4" filter. But im still getting smell on the outside of the room. I obviously need to bump up the cfm on the scrubber. I have an extra 6" vortex with a can 33 filter, but I dont have enough floor space to put the 33 anywhere. And not much space up high either..

So my main question is if i can run a 6" vortex through one of those 4" filters?
And if i could how long would it last?

if you have oder on the outside then it is leaking from somewhere. what type of material is your room made out of? what did you seal with? how about the door? the scrubber you are using seems a touch small for a room that large... how many plants are you running?

In the immortal words of Richard Nixon, "We could do that. But, it would be wrong." Yes, you can hook it up but, you should expect immediate failure.

You've got a bad match somewhere. The filter is too small or the fan too big or both. The Can33 is for 100-200 cfm, just right for your existing fan. The 6" Vortex does 450cfm, far too much for the can 33.

Philthy-The room is made out of plywood, sealed and cocked. When you are using co2 in a sealed room. it expands, thus forcing air out of thee smallest hole, therefore creating my problem..

FreezerBoy-Maybe its not a 33.. maybe its a 66 or 75. All i kno is that i bought the fan and filter as a combo.. Soooo im still stuck with the current dilemma.

Get out your ruler. Someone must've beat them over the head with a hammer because this makes too much sense. Believe it or not, the 33, 66 and 75 are ... wait for it ... 33, 66, and 75 cm in length!?! Good Lord, what were they thinking?

For us idiot left-ponders and our braindead insistence on inches, that's 13, 26 and 29.5 inches respectively.

hmm. that is interesting..I always thought it correlated with the weight of the filter. Well its a can 50 i figured out.

As was mentioned...you have a leak.

If you suck through the filter instead of blowing into it, you will probably find the problem.
Blowing into something that is restrictive in the least, provides the chance for some of the air to be pushed out of any minute crack available. Sucking through the fan will restrict the air flow, if the filter and duct is a bad match for the fan, however, it will only suck in what air it can, and none will be pushed out of the cracks.

You can just about trust that ALL of us have some leaks.

Hoosier Daddy-I am sucking through it... My initial problem was that my interior fan that is hooked up to the filter, is undersized for the room. its dimensions are 11x5x7=385cf
The fan used is a 180 cfm 4" squirrel fan.

Willis- As i explained in my other post.. Obviously i have a leak-as it is almost impossible to have a 100% sealed room when using co2. This is because the co2 expands and pushes air out the smallest cracks/holes..

Now if my fan was adequate to scrub all of the air quicker than it does now; even if it got out it wouldn't smell...

So it gets back to my final question that freezer boy answered-Is that it wouldnt be right to hook up a 6" vortex to a 4" smaller filter.. I was only thinking this route because there is nearly no space for a can 50 filter to sit on the ground or even hang...

And this problem has only came about within the last few days because im in week 8 and about to chop..

Im gonna tell ya from experience that putting a 6" fan on a 4" filter would be doing the opposite of what you want to do. It will give the Activated Charcoal less time to absorb the smell that you want gone, especially because you are just recirculating clean air into a stinky environment anyway.. I would say to just use the can50 filter for the last few weeks or else you are gonna have a smell problem.. which can grow worse especially when you are near harvest or are harvesting..

It always seems to be that people like to knock on your door just after you decide not to use the bigger filter.. but this is just IMPO.. Good luck dude

I re read the post/s

180cfm ain't shit for a room that size.

There MUST be negative pressure. Doesn't matter what you do prior..but the room must be negative air flow thru a filter in the end.

Sorry, Pt...but this part threw me

Now, it sure sounds like you were pushing through your filter...but then again, I may have just read wrong. (shrug)
