insulating air cooled 1000W hoods

hi just was thinking and wanted to get the room as cold as possible since the temps are gonna get really high soon. Does anyone insulate their air cooled hoods so the heat doesnt warm their room up too much? what materials would be good to either insulate the outside of the hood or the inside? thanks guys

Phillthy: thanks for the info, looks good. only thing is that what if you have a different brand/shape hood that doesnt fit in that brand of sleeve.

anyone know of a matting or clothe that you can cut and tape onto the hoods? just trying to think of alternate ways to keep the head in the hood.

I'm having an Acid Flashback or someone here, recently, did just such a tutorial. Insulate, insulated and insulation fails to bring it up in search ....

Best I can do for now is bump you back to the top.

My aircooled hood doesnt even get warm ... 600w. Are the hoods supposed to get hot?? Mine is cold lol :D Even after 18 hours of lights-on.

I use a Hydrofarm Radiant 6.

I use a Hydrofarm radiant 8 and a s&p td200x (419cfm) pulling 65° ambient into the closet via 8x24" intake. Closet temps never exceed 3° over ambients and the exterior top of the radiant 8 is cool/cold to the touch.:2cents:

I air cool my 6" silverstars and with the heat guy, they still are in the 90's after being on for a few hours. Insulation would help me.
