Instead of 18/6 driect to 12/12, slowly change over weeks

I always hear if you go to slowly changing lighting schedule, or do 13/11 in flowering, you'll get hermies. I read that constantly ... However with schedule changing about 30 min on either side a day, I have no problems e.g.

Day 0 18/6
Day 1 17.5/ 6.5
Day 2 17/7
Day 3 16.5/7.5 etc

I have never seen a Hermie from this. I believe as long as "dawn" (lights on) is always kept consistent throughout this change, and never any light leaks, things are fine. I find I get a bigger "flower stretch" and extra explosive growth the weeks following doing this that exceed the usual flwerr stretch. Also end weight from clones of the same mother isn't substantially different but on avrrage 10-15% more bud weight. Sure its not a lot but hey any extra is good.

Now flame me, tell me why this is dumb, and why I will get hermies.

But seriously... More experienced folks want to chime in? Anyone else do some version of this?

Sorry for all the spelling errors... Didn't realize I couldn't edit.

Nature doesn't flip its lights suddenly one day, and no hermies outside.... This was my reasoning to try this.
