Instant Mashed Potatoes?

Well I have about a stick of butters worth of cannabutter left. My friends made a large batch, and gave me some. Anyway, last night, I made Macastoni and Cheese. I simply used Easy Mac. When it came out of the microwave, I simply melted at least 3 tablespoons of cannabutter in it, and then mixed in the cheese. I added some more hot water as well, since there wasn't enough. It got me pretty high, but didn't taste that good.

SO, I was looking through my cabinet, for things that call for butter, and I found a box of instant mashed potatoes. You are supposed to combine 1 cup of water, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1 1/2 tbsp of butter. You are then supposed to heat to a boil, remove from heat, add 1/3 cup of cold milk, and then stir in the potatoes gently. Then serve.

Well, I was wondering if I'd be able to use cannabutter instead of regular butter, or if the part where I'm supposed to bring it to a boil will destroy the cannabinoids? I'm not sure.

any unnecessary heat does run the risk of and usually does in some ways degrade or destroy some of the goodies, however there is a difference between unnecessary heat and the process we know as decarboxylation, which you probably needn't worry about because your butter is already prepared.

with that said, you shouldn't worry too much about bringing it to a boil and working without added heat from there. thats a pretty low temp and a rather short period of time.

another note, if you want something that tastes better... dont use products like easy mac and instant taters = P take some actual potatoes and herb-em and roast those, then toss with some of your cannabutter. most times ive done herbed potatoes i could barely taste the ganjbutter, and when it does present itself its a nice compliment to the rest of the flavors goin on.

I'd add all the ingredients together except for the butter, bring to a boil, take it off the burner then add the butter...will work the same way with or without the butter when you bring it to a boil

good call papulz, nothing like cooking your stuff instead of the instant gunk!
