Insecure posting?

Hey guys. I know this site is safely encrypted, but I just noticed something on my browser that Ive never encountered. Im using google Chrome, and every time I visit the site, it has a green lock up in the left corner in front of the web address. Well, when I get into the forums, that lock is now whited out with a red "x" over it.

Is this just something Ive never noticed? Anyone else out there using Chrome?

I got the same shit. Red X from time to time. when I click it, it gives no information.

Dunno what it means. Right now its green. then sometimes it changes to Red.

Whatever it means. I do not know.

From what I read, Icmag.com is encrypted. However, This page includes other resources which are not secure. These resources can be viewed by others while in transit, and can be modified by an attacker to change the look of the page. Im guessing this is why some areas of the site are giving the X, not secure, and others are secure.. This is just a message chromoe is giving me. I really know nothing about tha shit, and wont pretend i do.

When you a load page that has unencrypted content on it, your browser let's you know. So for example you open a thread that has links or a picture to a third-party site using http (not https), your browser tells you that although your loading icmag over https that particular page is linking in content from other non secure sites.

Most of the time its not a big deal because the off-site content people link to usually isn't security sensitive.
