What's new

Insanely late outdoors possible?

I have enough common sense to know that this would probably be a waste of time, but my desperation makes me ask this question anyway:

The first frost in my area is on average October 10th. I have some Top44 seeds from nirvana (supposed to finish flower in 44 days). I could have some two week old seedlings grown inside under fluoros by around July 10th, so my question is -- with a plant that flowers so quickly, if I planted the seedlings a month before the first frost and gave them exquisit care, would I have any chance of them flowering even a small amount before they froze to death?

My guess is that it will get too cold and they won't flower fast enough before it is completely freezing, but could I pull something off if I mulched around them and used a cold frame or something? There's just no way for me to grow indoors right now other then the fluoro seedling stage, and I'm really desperate to not have to wait until spring because I'm having migraines and no medical marijuana in my area.

do not even waste your seeds on that! they iwill flower at fist node and you will retrieve 0.0.012 g of bud from all your plants combined.

what he said. if you actually want to waste your time with this venture, use bagseeds, don't waste good genetics. if you got a lot of bagseeds, pop em all, try to keep them inside under flouros for a few weeks then, depending on how hard your winters come on, you might be able to put them outside and flower them a bit. it would help if you could move them inside as it gets colder.
in other words, it will be a lot of work and involve a lot of indoor work, in which case you might as well just get an HPS and do it all inside.

Hmm.. This is interesting... The first frost in my area is in late December.. If it even frosts. I have put doing a late outdoor grow into perspective but I figure why even bother, the best thing to do is plant the very start of spring..

Currently plotting for next year.. :chin: Bwhaha. :sasmokin:

Yeah, this is what I figured. It sucks cause i have a nice 400w hps cab setup, but I'm living back with my parents and can't run something like that here. I just wish I could get back to california. I have a medical recommendation there, but I couldn't make enough money to stay there. It's amazing how different the laws from one state can be to another. There I could grow and even buy from a dispensory, keep my migraines away, and be proud of it. Here, if I got caught growing more then 4 plants I'd be a felon. But for some reason my migraines haven't changed to accomidate the laws... go figure. :badday: I guess I'll just have to keep my migraines somewhat in check through other means, and keep my precious seeds tucked away for the day when I get back on my feet again.
