Input on guerilla using autos?

Hey guys I have a couple questions regarding autos. I'm a long time grower and have always uses photo period plants but this year I want to run a bit of both, autos and photos. Here in the Appalachians the sooner you can get your harvest the better and also for security reasons the autos should be much harder to spot since they're a smallervariety. Would you happen to know which auto is best in terms of yield and potency? My thoughts right now are leaning towards auto ak and auto pounder. I will buy them in bulk and as long as I'm pulling an ounce per I'd be happy with that. Hoping to get harvests around July/august. Thanks for reading!

My friend is using autos for the first time this year.

Word is they are more prone to mold but some strains are said to be resistant.

Selection is super key though, there are alot of femininised autos too.

Herbies seeds has a huge selection.

Going with Cream of the crop cash crop auto fem.

I'm going to run some autos and some normal feminised strains too. One thing you'll have to remember: with the autos outdoor (indoor too) you'll have to do a nearly perfect vegetative phase! If you will not the plant will remain little and the yield will not be that good!

Good luck man :smoker:

You can try autos, but I would not bother. I have 40 years guerrilla gardening experience and I could not make autos work. Inside I really liked it. No moms, make some seed, real good bud. Outside, especially in the bush, it was pretty much regular failure. The plants grow too short to compete with surroundings. You have to be real careful about transplanting. They hate it, although if you are careful it can be done. They don't have time to recover from stress. And they will mold. My ultimate success outside with autos was in 2 gallon pots on the patio.

Auto's will work for guerilla growing........if you can take care of them at least a couple times a week. That and they need to be in open sunlight for the better part of the day. If those parameters can't be met, then it is just a waste of time and money.

My advice if you are gonna do some. Use 5 gal. pails or totes that hold anywhere between 18-30 gals. of dirt. In the 5 gals put 2 or 3 plants. 18 gal. containers do 6 or 8, and 30 gals, do 8-12 plants. That way your plants will be up above the natural brushline, and have a chance to get some sun.

I start in jiffy cups, and transplant directly into my finish container a week after they pop above the soil. With the method I just described I have had auto's yield up to 80 grams from a single plant and an average per plant of 35 grams. Strain selection is paramount.

WOS auto Northern lights x Big bud, Paradise seeds Pandora, and Roadrunner#2 have all done really well for me. With the NL x BB auto being the 80 gram plant.

If there is doubt about the autos, then why not just get a fast flowering photo plant? (Like one of the ak's) female has a "pure ak" that they say flowers in 48 days.

Thanks for all the feedback guys I really appriciate it! On the other hand I'm not sure if I want to continue on with autos seeing how complicating they are lol. Although I may expirement with a few just to maybe make plans for next year. I have a really good early finisher with HEAVYyields right now and a few mothers but I've never ran it outdoors. Its critical + by dinafem and finishes about 45-50 days and very very potent. My only concern with this strain word be bud rot as I've dealt with it a lot outdoors in the past but so far indoor have never had it on this specific strain. Does anyone have any expirience with it outdoors? Its a specially selected skunk crossed with big bud, very stable genes.

im also in the appalachias..i have always did photos as well, but like u im gonna be trying a few autos this year to see how they work. the autos im doing this year are paradise pandora and mephisto fatsome express. mephisto has some really nice connosiur type plants..the fatsoma express is the auto version of rare dankness ghost train haze both these strains have really great reviews on the auto flowering board..also dinafems and sweet seeds autos are highly sought after and get good reviews..the thing with autos just like ronbo51 and TF says they are very picky and will mold to high hell..im gonna be doing mine here at the house so i can bring them in and out everday so they will not get the first bit of moisture on them and i will germ the seed st8 into the 4 gallon pot i have

dianfem has blue hashplant, blue widow and cali hashaplant all are great outdoor strains..the cali hashplant flowers in 45-50 days..what outdoor strains have u had success with in the appalachias? im sure as u know it gets humid as hell here..the delahaze is only plant i have had to ever finish with zero mold and that was giving it the worst treatment possible..miracle gro nutes,MG soil and no IPM and it still did wonderful..this year will be alot different bc im doing a IPM,organic soil and beneficals innoculated on my multi strain grow..

Autos will do fine outdoor, but they have a short vegetative stage so you need to make sure your soil is warm enough when you plant them. Last year I put some into cool soil and they never recovered. Want to have nightime temps no lower than 55 id say. I put some out june first and they didnt amount to much, put more out closer to july and they did really well.

I'm curious about autos too though, never tried em.To take advantage of autos to the fullest it sounds like you have to plant in the warmest part of summer. For me thats July and August, which means I'll still be harvesting that first week of september. You can find photos that are done at the same time.

You know the idea behind the autoflowering strains is to have something to smoke in the middle summer... So I think if you plant them in July or August it isn't that good, because then you will harvest in September/October and you will also do that with normal feminized seeds! It's true that if you plant in March or April the results will not be that good like in the summer, but that's the idea of autoflowers in my opinion guys! ;) For outdoor growers...

Super auto's 90+ days from seed to bud are the only auto's worth growing outdoors. Regular 60 day auto bud structure is leafy/airy "larfy" outdoors for whatever reason.

I would go with a semi auto strain like guerilla gold 3. Plant seedlings june 1st harvest september 1-7th. Even though these are not autoflowers the time to grow is roughtly the same (90 days seed to bud if planted june 1st)

Guerilla Gold 3

thats nice there jay..green poison fast version i think falls under the term semi auto as does easy sativa and purple maroc

a buddy grows autos outdoors here. he starts them in peat pellets, and when the roots break out he sets them out into prepared holes along the edges of his hay fields. he's the one mowing, so if they get cut down...
