Input for 400 watt cab i am building this weekend

this weekend i finally have some time off, so i'm gonna go ahead and get baked and build my girls their new home. My problem is......... you guessed it, space!! See, right now i have two areas, i cant even call them rooms or cabs:) one w/2 4' shop lights, where i have a mother and a few clones and the other has my 400 watt ghetto cooltube setup w/13 verified female seedlings and three that i am waiting to show sex. Sort of growing SOG.

Here's a run down of my equipment
1 400 hps w/ cooltube
2 water pumps
2 air pumps
4 DWC buckets.......3 gal. ea.
1 planter
1 reservoir
1 stanley blower
1 set fox farm Grow BIg, Big Bloom and tiger bloom
1 set flora nova grow and bloom w/kool bloom
1 set GH grow, bloom, and base
1 roll mylar
1 roll black plastic
poor mans co2 systems (baking soda&vinegar) and(yeast&sugar)
a shit load of 1 gal. grow bags

I believe i have everything for a cab except the cab :bashhead: Now i've been a long time lurker of these websites, including OG, which is where i started down my path of enlightenment :rasta: and i know how to use the search function just as good as anyone else, but that is time consuming, and i have more productive things to get done, so i figure i'll try to get the insight i need brought to me.

My FIRST question:
Is there a prefabbed cabinet that has somewhere along the dimensions 6'x3'x7' ( L W H) that can be purchased for less than $150?

Believe it or not your best bet is to search your local hardware stores.... Homedepot...Lowes, etc. These will give you a good idea what is within your price range for your locale - as well as the specs on each type of cabinet and which ones they offer.

Other than that, the next best/cheapest way to go is.... yup... build it. One thing to consider if you're going to DIY it is look at the local hardware stores for the laminated particle board they already use in their cabinets. This will give you a lighter box vs. going with solid wood.

i have a cooltube 400w CMH vertical scrog in a 6.3ft3 cab. first run in progress now. check it out! still in veg but interesting already. my canopy is hopefully going to be a full square meter in a 28x22x18 cab! :headbange

side shot of what's going on now. this is day 5 of veg.

just to give you an idea of what i'm talking about.

stke :joint:

hey guys, thanks for the input. i put the cap on the price because any more than that and it would be impratical. I have access 2 any tool you could think of, but im a stoner and like 2 try the easiest ways out.
STKE-nice setup! good luck w/that. is that a "cage" inside your room? Can you give me a little more info?

Man, not alot of help from ppl round here? I'll keep trying. Here is a pic of the grow area i have right now....

as you can tell, theres a whole lotta problems w/ this. ie. no ventilation, co2 or anything.
i went to home depotyesterday, drunk and high, and made the worst purchase of my grows to date. here's what i ended up getting (DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE!!!!!!)

but i have it and now i'm stuck w/ it.( broke the cheap ass shit.) so i might as well try, see how it goes. The first thing i'm thinking is passive air intakes in the bottom, say 10 3/4 pvc elbows. Any input from anyone would be great.

i plan on running hydro. Two 3 gal bubblers and 4 plants in an ebb n flow. the stanley will connect to my cooltube which will exhaust through carbon filter, to top, where i broke it the worst. my ballast will go onto a piece of wood on the top also. all electrical shit will be in utility (top shelf)

hahaha - nothing better than shopping while fucked up.

Well that cab could probably work for ya - god knows I've seen worse configs. Couple of suggestions:

Increase the size of your passive intakes to 1inch... more room = easier air flow, and you'll probably need it.

Consider putting your equipment OUTSIDE of the cab if possible... this will assist in lower the internal temps of since you wont have the ballast/etc generating heat in there

Might want to also double check and make sure that when those doors are closed it blocks all the light. My experience with cabs is this is usually not the case and some extra care has to be added in order to seal em up good.

Other than that - set it all up, throw the switch and get some temp readings!
