Inline Fan, power cuts on and off??

Anyone know anything about GrowBright 6" Inline Fan 110 watts 424 CFM.

Something with the electric supply seemed to short them out. ( it melted two 6 inch duct fans Literally they where smoking)
The Growbright Inline fans were not hot or burning or anything like the duct fans, they just started the power on and off thing.
If you plug them in now they kick on for about a split second then off then on then off and on ........ repeat....

They are brand new, i had back ups and now i would like to figure out if there is anything i can do to fix these.
Like a capacitor or fuse or something ?? Don't know much about what makes them run.

Just looking to see if i can replace a specific part and restore them, being brand new I hate tossing them.

I know you're probably more keen on repairing them but Growbright does offer a 5 year warranty on their fans. Last time I checked... Good luck!

That sounds like it could be a cap issue, but usually when the cap fails the fan won't start until you spin it by hand.

But I suppose the cap could be failing to hold a proper charge so it's starting the fan but doesn't have enough charge to keep it going so it stops and charges up again...rinse repeat.

If you can get it going by spinning it by hand then it's definitely a cap.
