Inline fan positioning

I have two ways I can set up my exhaust ventilation:

1) Carbon Filter > Inline Fan > 9 feet of ducting
or
2) Carbon Filter > 9ft of ducting > Inline Fan

Option 2 works better for my setup but will the inline fan not pull air as well as option 1 since it will be located at the end of the run?

Agree with Hold Your Fire. But use sections of straight metal duct pipe for a run that long. Eliminate all the flex duct you can. You can run a few feet of straight, then make a turn or angled run, or whatever with flex, then go back to as much straight as possible. Much less static pressure with straight. Consider using elbows etc. when possible rather than flex. Good luck. -granger

Ok cool option 2 it is. The run is straight for the most part so i'll use a straight piece of metal duct as you suggested. Thanks
