Inhale, exhale.....what percentage of THC is absorbed when smoking?

99%

What percentage of the THC is not absorbed by your lungs and exhaled out?

What percentage of the THC attaches to the internal surfaces of a pipe or bong?

It ought to be in terms of cannabinoids and not just THC.

It must depend on the health, size and capacity of the smokers lungs.
An interesting, and very unscientific exercise is have someone take a big hit and exhale it into a paper bag, pass it off to as many friends who'll do the same til there's no smoke left. See how many get stoned off it.

If it's any sort of proof as to how much cannabinoids our lungs absorb in a single hit, it's actually a low percentage.
I wonder if the rate of absorption is comparable to oxygen, from numbers I've looked at, if the air is comprised of 20% oxygen, upon exhale it's decreased down to 15%

The particulates that make up cannabis smoke are quite sticky, and that all really depends on the material of the pipe.
There's the resin the melts down through the bowl, and there's the resin which is made up of collected smoke particles, to me it would seem the resin that is immediate of the bowl is still quite potent, while farther into said bong or pipe is far less.

from the wikipedia page about vaporizing:

The Leiden University study found that as much as 30%–40% of inhaled THC was not absorbed by the lungs but simply exhaled. However, they did not find large individual differences in the amounts exhaled.

I've always gotten higher for longer from eating bud compared to smoking or vaping the same amount. I don't know if it's from a higher bioavailability or if it's from how weed is digested. I know it doesn't work that way for everyone.

Instead of exhaling away the cannabinoids and wasting them, would it be possible to blow the vapor or smoke into some type of container that could separate and trap the cannabinoids?

A device like that would be a hit.

You could try taking hits from a vaporizer bag. Inhale, and exhale back into the bag so you don't lose anything. The cannabinoids will eventually be absorbed or they'll condense inside the bag.

I tried that once with my Extreme Q. Then I realized I had over a pound of bud that harvest and I didn't have to try that hard to conserve it.
